Hi,

I have been hit by this dreaded blurry waveform problem during a preparation session which let me quite anxious about my next gig in a few weeks.

Here's a summary of all the discussions that have been opened about this problem in the forum. I spent a couple hours reading through the discussion and finding all the posts talking about this issue. I got a total of 11 so far… How many more do we need to get a fix?

-The only pattern I see so far is that it started around 3.7-3.7.1. - I had the blur on 3.11.1, never on 3.7

-It happens on Mac and Windows - I run on Windows

-Disabling "Loading only into stopped deck" seem to help some people - I have not tried this yet because I like that setting to be enabled

The list

    Some news on this issue:

I used Traktor 3.7 for the last 3 days and I got the same problem happening again. Started with blurry waveform, then eventually the audio stops. The second deck does not work either or only partially, like a few cue points. But waveform is also screwed on second deck. My controller is still responding except for playing the track. Loading a track does not work either.

I knew I could not quit the application normally as it hang at the collection saving step so I started a Windows Task Manager and I took a memory dump of Traktor before terminating the process from there. I was then able to restart Traktor without rebooting my computer. It works as usual after the restart.

I just opened a support with NI for this problem. I sent a screenshot I was able to take before termination. I can send them the memory dump if they need it to troubleshoot.

I'm hoping to hear from them quickly.

I got the samemissue after updating to 3.11 today. Track stops after 1 second and the waveform gets blurred. Uninstalled and reinstalled. No success. Sent back To the previous version and works normal. Using a S8. But the problem happens even when just using the laptop for prep.

What is the previous version you went back to?

I actually went back to 3.2 on my old laptop. Haven't encountered the blur while problem working on it the whole day.

Greetings to all. I had a lot of trouble with this situation of the blurred waves. The NI staff attended to me to resolve the issue. But it's something that doesn't happen all the time and I couldn't answer them as quickly as they expected. In the latest version of Traktor 3.11 I made the following. Install the update and wait for everything to install. First of all, I did a consistency check. Erase the lost files. Then I did another consistency check, other lost files appeared, and I deleted them as well. I did another consistency check and another missing file reappeared. I ended up doing the consistency check like five times. Lost files kept showing up anyway. At least one for each consistency check. After that I started using traktor abusively with 4 Stems at the same time, all with Loops, all with Effects. Changing songs on each Deck very quickly. In short, an abuse for the software. Something that is not normally done live. And I didn't have the problem with the blurry waveform. Since this version 3.11 came out until today, May 21, 2024, I have not had any problems.

It appears to me that you have data loss problems. Either the files can't be read from where they are stored, or the data does not reach the software/audio interface. The problem that i have come across most is USB connections. Devices also draw (some of) their power through this connection, which is why the USB hubs of your system (internal or external) are subject to OS Energy Savings settings, particularly using a notebook.

I had to manually select every USB hub and external hard disk via device manager (i use windows) and uncheck the permission for the OS to power it down during a lull in data transfer volume.

It can also be faulty USB cables or damaged or insufficient power bricks/cables.
