what product is this talking about?

This one: :)))

If NI ever becomes likeable again, I'd much prefer a Jam 2..............

With this all new management board - forget. Jam 2 will never happen. Whole Maschine line has unclear future for me.

CV outs would be rad, I’d love the ability to use CV outs to multiply/loop some human modulation of my Moog Matriarch. Not for everyone but it would be pretty rad for those with semi or full modular gear.

You think it is going to be EOL or replaced?
0 -
Replaced with DAW or something like that. Ofcourse for now nad for me it's more Sience Fiction and Future.

Something like NI acquires Universal Audio to form Universal Instruments and posits Luna as the Future Of DAWs..............................😏🙃

Maschine is a groovebox, not a DAW. How should it be replaced with a DAW? Doesn’t make any sense. Looking at what happened with the Keyboard line, I’d rather expect stronger focus on the groovebox aspect and removal of DAW-like features.

The fact that they are in theory making MK3 work better with DAW's is slightly encouraging. It certainly wouldn't hurt for most if they took that line with Maschine...

one of my big issues with using it in a DAW is that you can’t name the instances.. so if you have 4 or 5 Maschines (there’s only 16 outputs into the DAW so it’s not really feasible to have more than one group in an instance if you want to mix in the DAW), switching between instances on the controller is just trying to remember which is which by number..

IMHO it would be good if there were a proper discussion channel with the developers to throw up issues like this and posit possible solutions. Surely it's better to use your user base positively.

No. You can actually can name the instances.
If you save the MAS Plugin project then when switching it shows whatever name you used, saving might be annoying but it can also serve as a backup/failsafe of sorts (?) I don't mind having to do that but it might be annoying for some.
The only other option besides read the project name would be to read the DAW Track name, VST3 can do that I think, I doubt NI would implement it as quality of life updates are virtually non-existent.

Truth. NI still hasn’t solved the CC input limitation, which will prevent it from being a full fledged DAW for anyone who uses controllers alongside Maschine hardware.

I would like for the Maschine mk3 to remain the default controller, but for another kind of controller to be created with a whole different workflow in mind. In the same way we had the Jazz, it should be possible to come up with a new hardware concept that uses the same maschine software but approaches the creation and manipulation of midi from a totally new mindset.
The most promising concept uses euclidean rhyhms
or hardware which bypasses the need to know music theory

Or even isomorphic hardware which makes it easier to explore chords and chord progression.
Create the hardware with the end goal in mind, have it so it expands the posibilities.
Music trends towards simplicity because more people want to make music without being bound to the theory, or because the latest technology makes the end result simplier and easier. We have our daws where it seems the only thing they do is manage loops.
Imagine if the technology assisted in creating music with greater depth and complexity, yet still made it easier. Imagine a way to define the structure ahead of the music contained by that structure. Or create whole new genres of music based on that super idea of its underlying structure.
Tagline : Maschine, complexity made simpler.
