Hmm, isn't this the MK4 thread. Wonder why is the linkage to MK3 or M+

Maschine hardware fEeLs NiCeR lmao….Octatrack hardware kicks maschine controllers out of the water and then some….Build quality so much better…All those other points about octatrack features are fair as of now, and maybe later on they can acutally be updated (maybe not polyphony- who knows though) never needed more than eight tracks let alone it has 8 midi tracks also. The ad/da converter on octa is very nice sound. Better efffects, per tempo patterns….way more I could name. I don’t like to argue on forums, but maschine is not better than octatrack mk2. Sorry to burst your maschine gas. I love maschine don’t get me wrong….I just hate NI as a company. aM i GoInG tO gEt bAnNeD nOw? Lmao

As some one who has used and likes both I disagree with your assessment. M+ feels dense, modern, dynamic and smooth as butter. Octatrack, while also cool and well built, is a bit clicky, plastic, static to the touch and retro with a dinky terrible screen.
Maschine feels like an instrument you compose with/on, Octatrack feels like a sequencer with bag full of neat tricks.

I have Maschine+ and Octatrack MK2 and still uses both. As long as two devices share a commons space/spec, they could be compared. It is like comparing a PC to a hardware device and say the PC is comparable since it can also do the same thing but actually it's that extreme flexibility of use that covers so much common ground/spec.
That said, I am inclined to agree with OhulahanBass that Octatrack doesnt feel like a better device, just with different capability, depending on use. It's strengths (imo) are in live performance and sample mangling. It can't even pitch more than 2 octaves (without some wizardry). There is no velocity or pressure in the buttons and not to mention the somewhat adequate but small screen. MIDI is also 4-note only.
To stay on topic, my idea of MK4, which must have the row of 16 buttons for fast deployment and live use.

My guess/fear is they will move to the single big screen like in the new keyboards. Not sure how they can do this without a big layout redesign but I would guess it is more efficient to focus on developing GUIs for one screen/layout even if that means big changes to the rest of the hardware.
This makes me nervous as a new era of Maschine hardware may mean lack of continued support for existing hardware. The recent beta testing recruitment for the current Maschine hardware may suggest I’m wrong…fingers crossed.
I think the hardware layout is close to perfect in size and features, most of my wish list internal and software. More gain on the preamps and another pedal input for controlling the sampler would be great….add a batt for the plus version and I'd prolly upgrade on or around launch.

Maschine 2.0 software was apparently released on this day (Oct 5th) in 2017. It would have been nice to see Maschine news today, instead NI announced this 🤯

I desperately hope that isn't the case, and it could well be one of the reasons they aren't supporting Maschine in MK 3.
Maschine IMHO needs to make far better use of the two screens, for instance being able to see Ideas view and Arranger at the same time, something I really wish they'd do with the software.

When was this???

Sorry if I misled you, in other threads an NI rep started signing up any M+ user who asked. Not exactly recruitment but all you need to do is ask if you want to join up.

…and this is the thread in discussion, if you are interested

Yep, I own live 2 I can bring it anywhere and make music. For that reason, I saw no reason to upgrade to M+,
but I am interested in MK4

Octatrack looks like an upgraded Electribe.

I heard it can transpose farts

„transcend“ is the word you’re looking for.

Also, Akai pretty much released Maschine Jam mk2.

Looks kind of cool but also kind of strange at the same time... the touch strips around the Pads like that is a bit odd...
I do wonder if it comes with a magnifying glass for the tiny oled, looks the same size as MAS Mikro Mk3, which i personally hated with a passion. The standalone Sequencer looks cool for the anti-daw crowd.
