    Giveaway winners announcement

    A big thank you to each and everyone of you who participated in our giveaway. We were overwhelmed by the response!

    NGL, your comments about the future of music made for a super interesting read. Lots of cool ideas and, understandably, concerns about the domination of AI… I too hope that one day AI will serve as our collaborator, but more as an aid or a tool, rather than a replacement for human creativity.🤞 Let's see how things unfold, especially with EU's new AI regulations underway.

    Anyways! Here comes the part you all are waiting for. We've drawn the names of our three winners.

    Congratulations

    @Orbiuxx

    The world of Music will be completely rebuilt by people who will understand much more about new technologies than about Music. Artificial Intelligence will be the great protagonist in this new scene. Presentations will be conducted through holographic Interfaces, designed in sizes and shapes limited only by the creativity of the artists. A never-before-seen number of compositions will emerge, utilizing voices and instruments created by exotic technologies. The possibilities for producing and projecting sound will also bring a new hearing ability, beyond the 20Hz/20Khz and immersive formats we have today. All this fantastic scenery will turn fiction into reality, and the "real musicians" who don't use these tools to produce, will have to live in "Ghettos of Old Culture", performing for small audiences who will be seen as we see the vintage culture nowadays, just as a style.

    @Codajo

    Hoping to hear the death rattle of corporate record labels and see a grassroots explosion of self produced albums with artist reaping the benefits the labels have for decades. So much talent yet untapped because it doesn’t fit the radio airplay model. In the next decade, the music industry is expected to continue its shift towards streaming platforms, empowering independent artists, and embracing technologies like virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Blockchain and cryptocurrencies may revolutionize music distribution and royalties, while sustainability and social impact will gain importance. Live music experiences will remain popular, global music fusion will continue to grow, and personalized music recommendations will become more refined. Social media will continue to play a crucial role in music discovery and fan engagement.

    So given the AI-dominated vision of the future we seem to universally agree on, I figured why not asking ChatGPT to write a short story based on comments on this thread. Here's a what they come up with. It's kinda wild.

    In a desolate and oppressive future, where creativity and individuality are suppressed, a once-thriving musician named Lucas found himself trapped in a society devoid of artistic expression. The totalitarian regime known as The System controlled every aspect of people's lives, including the type of music they were allowed to listen to.

    Lucas yearned to break free from the chains of conformity and share his soul-stirring melodies with the world. He believed in the power of music to unite and inspire, even in the darkest of times. But The System had different plans, seeking to erase any form of dissent and reshape society into a sterile and homogeneous entity.

    One day, Lucas stumbled upon a hidden room in the basement of an abandoned building. Amongst the dusty relics, he discovered an ancient record player and a collection of vinyl records, a glimpse into a forgotten era of free expression and artistic revolution. The records were labeled with the names of legendary musicians, rebels who defied the oppressive regime of their time.

    Driven by a newfound hope, Lucas started to study the records, listening to the revolutionary sounds that once resonated with passion and defiance. He realized that the key to liberation lay in the melodies and lyrics that had been deemed dangerous by The System.

    With his heart pounding and determination fueling his every move, Lucas picked up his guitar, composing melodies that echoed the spirit of resistance. He found solace in the music, pouring his emotions into every strum, every lyric he wrote.

    News of Lucas' defiance began to spread among the suppressed masses. Whispers of a musician who dared to challenge The System electrified the air, spreading like wildfire. People hungered for the music that had been stolen from them, craving the escape it offered from their bleak reality.

    The regime, sensing the growing unrest, intensified their efforts to silence Lucas. They dispatched their enforcers, known as the Harmony Police, to capture him and erase any trace of his music. But Lucas was not alone in his fight. A group of underground rebels, who called themselves the Melody Underground, united under the banner of freedom and rallied to protect him.

    Together, they organized secret concerts in hidden locations, where Lucas performed his rebellious songs to an audience hungry for liberation. Each chord he played, each note he sang, became a rallying cry for those yearning to break free from the shackles of The System.

    The movement gained momentum, attracting attention from all corners of society. People began to rise up against the oppressive regime, inspired by the melodies that spoke to their hearts. The once-silent streets echoed with the chants of freedom, drowned out by the resounding power of music.

    As the rebellion grew stronger, Lucas became a symbol of hope, leading the charge against The System. The Harmony Police fought relentlessly to quell the uprising, but they were no match for the force of music and the unity it forged.

    In the final battle for freedom, Lucas stood on a makeshift stage in the heart of the city, surrounded by thousands of impassioned souls. His guitar strummed, his voice soared, and the collective power of the rebellion swelled in the air. The System trembled before the harmonious force that could no longer be silenced.

    In that moment, as the sound waves of freedom crashed against the walls of oppression, Lucas knew that music had transcended its role as mere entertainment. It had become a weapon, a force capable of dismantling the chains that bound humanity.

    And so, the musician and his melodies brought about the downfall of The System, ushering in an era of creativity, individuality, and the everlasting power of music. Lucas had become a legend, forever etched in the hearts of those who dared to dream of a world where music would always reign free.

    Given that the responses are generated by AI (unless the identical sentences are a massive coincidence) then one of the winners is apparently in breach of copyright. But whose copyright? The original writer or one of the 2 winners?

    When I use AI to generate some music, should I be worried about someone else having got in earlier with exactly the same AI instruction, or the original owner/ composer knocking on my door?

    I'm sure this isn't said by human who knows that there always will be "real musicians" especially in the times when electricity is off and ChatGPT couldn't generate such ******.

    Charlton Heston will be riding a horse along the coastline and the fallen ruins of the Capital Records building will be half buried in the sand...

    Lazy wins the day, apparently, on both ends. It took less than 2 seconds to notice the copy-paste with my eyeballs. AI will offer great advances, but this is a perfect example of the worst of it.

    Well while it is wild, it quite well describes what already has existed for real.... At least in ex-Soviet Union block...

    It was wild. And real pain. Even thought more than three decades has passed I still feel deep anger to the system. And my blood still starts to boil if I hear the music we had to listen to that time... It was real torture.

    You asked chatGPT what, now? Honestly, if this brand begins to move more toward "AI" tools I'll be checking out. I can't believe this reality even exists. This is how you convert 23+ year brand loyalists to brand enemies.
