So after all that fuzz about getting feedback from users about new features and voting are you planning actually to implement any of those or was it just a waste of time?

As for the upgrade i can’t complain. Appreciate the work put in and 29 USD is not to much and I’d happy pay more for significant updates to this and the plus.

Any idea when plus will follow the update?

    cheers,

    T.

We have implemented most of the most requested features. Of course there are other requests. And we do intend to iterate. But it definitely wasn't a waste of time!

    As of November 6th, 2024:

    • Maschine 3 is only compatible with Maschine Plus in Controller Mode
    • Maschine 2 is compatible with Maschine Plus in both Controller and Standalone Mode(s)

This means that Maschine Plus standalone mode is currently unable to load any projects created in Maschine 3 software. This incompatibility will be resolved, in tandem with a larger update with many bug fixes and Maschine Plus specific improvements. This update has been in beta for some time, and is expected to ship in late 2024 or early 2025. As a foundational and generational update to Maschine Plus, we feel it was incredibly important to ensure the robustness and stability of the firmware before deploying it, hence the wait, although I must acknowledge this update includes fixes users had already expected earlier this year, so I apologize for the wait. I can make no excuses.

Will we be able to have both Maschine 2 and Maschine 3 installed on a computer at the same time? As a Maschine Plus user, if I cant have projects go back and forth between PC and Standalone then its a not worth it for me.

Probably not since its an update. It most likely patches 2.x to 3.0.

It looks like Maschine 3.0 isn't "technically" available to us + users until the firmware update comes out.

You could install it on an older laptop or something if you want to play around with it.

Check your folder names. Maschine 2 installs to a folder clalled Maschine 2, so obviously Maschine 3 isn't going to install to the same folder. As a M+ user, for now have both 2 and 3 on your system, and if you need to make something for the M+ then do it on version 2.

they are kept separate so you just install via native access and M3 does not replace M2 or overwrites it.

See, the thing is, Maschine 3.0 is just the tip of the iceberg.. they have 12 more years to build it.. And some of our requests probably going to get implemented by then.. question is, which ones and when..

Yes, you'll be able to keep both versions, just avoid using different versions in a same DAW project.

I'm posting this article here, as it may answer some of the questions you are having: Why can't I use Maschine 3 on Maschine+?

What will be interesting is what happens to Maschine+ after 3.0 for it ships - there will probably be no way to have both versions on the standalone.. This will mean that any outstanding bugs in 3.0 will leave Maschine+ with the 3.0 OS and unable to revert back to 2.17..?

Step up your game NI.. making people wait and then still pay for an update as a maschine + user i find offensive…. what you want us to do beg? and then you come with a update what is maybe cheap but not a good buy for 29,- for some updates.. you could just do an update… losing peoples votes like this… and if you dont care we dont care either.. just sell our stuff and go to other software and hardware…

i feel like you guys fooling with us… we can just stop pretending its all ok, but i wait for my fckn maschine + update for agessssss….. just bug fixes…. come on.. i even bought komplete bundle of last year in the hope something would come and with the updates it would be better on the mschine + side of things..

@Jeremy_NI this information is incorrect (or incomplete):

    As of November 6th, 2024:

Maschine 3 is only compatible with Maschine+ in Controller Mode

Maschine 2 is compatible with Maschine+ in both Controller and Standalone Mode(s)

Maschine Plus is NOT compatible with the latest version of Maschine 2.
Therefore we also need that update, too. Next to bug fixes.

It’s like @tetsuneko says, what about full compatibility including fixes for version 2?
Or are we forced to update to version 3 to receive those bug fixes…?

If I understood NI reps correctly, Maschine 2 is now EOL and therefore, 2.17 will remain the last definitive version one should install to both devices for maximum compatibility for the time being.

With regards to the included synths & fx, consult the Maschine+ version numbers to find which versions of the desktop versions you should hold on to.

I imagine that for Plus owners, the two things will be tied together. If they buy the upgrade to Maschine 3 (desktop) then they qualify for a free update to the Plus. If they don't buy Maschine 3 then there's no need for them to upgrade the Plus.

    And the waiting continues 😅

Lucky I have other music stuff to explore in the meantime. I'll come back to the M+ once this update drops 🤷 it is what it is...
