More information on future updates M+

When Maschine was released the community lamented that it would mean the end for Battery. Fast forward to today and both Maschine and Battery are on the chopping block as NI reverts back to Kontakt. The truth is that all NIs products are dated at this point because the software is so old and linked to an outdated controller workflow. Both Roland and Akai have successfully implemented a hybrid workflow that allows moving back and forth between computer and device. I used to love NI, but this was back when a young Trent Reznor was running his guitars through Reaktor, and I was downloading bootlegs over dial-up internet. In modern times, NI has been a very buggy ecosystem that has increasingly catered to preset users.

There was a time I was going to run an entire improvisational noise/ambient/etc. set with Reaktor, but I got through all the tutorials/instructions for Primary & ran out of ideas. I tried to get into core, but the documentation for it is terrible unless you already know a thing or two about DSP and the maths involved. NI are really bad at properly marketing & selling their products, and then when things don't pan out, they discontinue or drag their feet with supporting them. It's like an incredibly neurotic person with absolutely obliterated executive functioning runs the company. So many of NI's biggest disappointments could have been massive successes if they hadn't prematurely abandoned them or assumed that their customers would immediately see the value in them. They should be making more marketing videos about making things in Reaktor, integrating reaktor with maschine, and whatnot. They need actual big names (like Trent Reznor) in their marketing material instead of some random DJs or Finger Drummer #5003. I recall Scott Fox from IVardensphere was huge into Maschine+ when it was released, but then he never made any more videos or spoke about it again. (probably because they've been fumbling with it for years.)

ah how I remember the days of Generator. I actually won a boxed version of it in some kind of competition :)

I've been wondering when the support for audio interfaces will arrive so I'm glad I found this thread. Looking forward to when it arrives but judging by the date of all comms, I better get testing.

I think that this year will be first without any update for M+ There are focused on SW…

idk, they released the Z1Mk2 yesterday so, maybe more HW on the way.

Still hoping they’ll manage to keep up a tradition… release an update just before the holidays, with a hot fix somewhere early next year 😅
But just like ‘@Simon_NI Says’ the Chief makes the rules and decides what’s next… for M+ it should be just a bug fix release. As he won’t respond to my questions about the type / level of compatibility for M+ with the new SW (desktop), I think we can only sit and wait for his next ’command’ and play nicely and well.
Again, I really hope they’re still capable of fixing the known bugs and class compliancy issues; that they (still) have access to the right skills and knowledge. Because this kind of behavior and delay really stirs up my doubts that they don’t know how to fix it. Maybe I’m completely wrong here, but we’ll see what happens when everyone is cheering about the new SW 3.0 release.
At this point they could release a brand new M+ MK2 or regular MK4, but I wouldn’t fall for it… my trust in this company is way below zero! It’s no longer just because of the 1.300 euro, this is about principles and core-values.

The M+ update has been delayed for many months. One could easily use the word "abandoned" as so little has been said or done for so long.
I just think they have such a small team that people are being moved away from one project to work on another, and this happens so often that projects end up gathering dust in the corner.

its not abandoned, progress is just so glacial that to modern people, it might as well not exist.. its like time is accelerating, one year seems longer every year.. and something that happened two weeks ago feels like it happened months ago..

Maschine 3 launch is today:
So probably M+ update is coming…someday.

Ouch - they're not really distinguishing the difference between the three downloads very well.

99 euro - full new license
69 euro update with both new soft and content
29 euro update with only soft
For me it's totally fine and clear. Also option to only update software is cool and very welcome!

its already ****** . NI sucks whole industry is on another level today and they are still makin ****** . gg

they need to specify what the content actually is.. I can see how its confusing for him.
Is the content something previous Maschine owners already have or is it something new?
I am guessing its just the original Maschine expansions or something?
