Have you tried to change (lower) audio buffer size? It might reduce load times.
Ryzen 9950x might be fine, but what about 3D version with large cache? It should not run on reduced CPU clock like at previous generations.

I have measured that. Load time of Kontakt 7 heavily depends on audio buffer size. At least on my system and older version of Kontakt 7. I have not tested current version, testing is rather time consuming, as one has to restart OS for each measurement.

I can only judge based on my experience with Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol and I admittedly don't have projects that large. My response was really to all of the people complaining about the NI development staff and who I know are most likely not working on any projects more complex than mine, yet are most likely the ones that can't seem to figure out how to tune their own computers to work efficiently.
What I do know because my entire career was in commercial software development, and those aren't just a few people involved. It's made up of various teams based on the product we were assigned to, and I've seen nothing that would indicate to me the NI product teams are doing anything less effective or efficient at this point than what I would expect to see in a professional software development effort. I will grant that it didn't appear to be that way necessarily a year or so back when these new releases started coming out, but much of that seems to be corrected at this point. That's why I find it so ironic when people post simply to bash the development team and I admit I have a tendency to bite back coming from the background I come from and seeing what I see.
In terms of K6 being faster than K7 that doesn't surprise me. K7, by definition, is moving into the more expansive area of standards in order to stay relevant as the whole community of vendors adopt these standards. By definition that means more capabilities and probably less efficiency in some operations until they understand the better and more efficient ways to do these things. But your choices are simple. You can choose to stay with the old architecture and be left out of the newer, more robust capabilities or kludge something together that might work in your particular situation but not be supported by a single source vendor.
In terms of large scale music productions I have watched a few documentaries on such things and I understand that process requires a much more detailed approach in managing the score especially when using virtual instruments. From that I derive, were I to approach it, I'd need to make a process such that I could convert the stable MIDI tracks to audio to manage the number of active virtual instruments in use at one time that are focused on the section I'm working in.
But that's true of almost any complex application of software whether it's video production or CAD or even complex multi-layered Excel spreadsheets for a Fortune 500 company.

For all wise guys who claim that there is no problem and NI makes great software - I have official answer from NI support that confirms loading time of Massive X on Windows (10 seconds - on NI support computer). They say that it's perfectly normal and acceptable time. 10 seconds of loading synth! When you compare it to Zebra (0.5 second) or basically any other synth, it shows that problem is not with "more expansive area of standards" (like DunedinDragon said), but simply because of bad coding. And yes, we're talking about Kontakt here, not Massive X, but problem is common - the same group of coders, the same problems and not worrying about optimization.

I highly suspect that there was never a sprint or a project phase that addressed tech debt. Nor will there ever be.

Kontakt 7 may load fast (5.5 s)…. If one has set small audio buffer (64 samples and less).
Kontakt 7 may load slowly (20+ s)… If one has set large audio buffer (1024 samples and more).
It puzzles me why the load time is proportional of size of audio buffer, but it is so. At least on my Win10 computer.

Where exactly do you have audio buffer size settings in Kontakt when running as VST3 plugin?

OK, I did test it with Kontakt standalone. As it was the only way to measure load time precisely.
But I guess, the same may be valid for VST. I speak about buffer size of audio interface (not about setting in Kontakt). That, one sets in ASIO driver, or probably also in DAW.

Not working for me, or I havent' noticed the difference. I doubt x3D version would be better because of lots of DSP effects.

Looks like they have abandoned ship moving on to Kontakt 8, hope that does not stand for 8 minutes loading time…

Do not expect any miracles, they do not focus on loading speed, but on new features.

FYI Kontakt 8 should address the slow loading times and an update for Kontakt 7 will also address the issue, most probably after the release of Kontakt 8.
