Komplete Kontrol S series MK1 keyboards End Of Life

That’s what I was saying. Expensive products should also have better support.
And, while I’m here…
Not if you have been doing it for 20+ years and have a truckload of working code for virtually all scenarios.
Isn’t this exactly underlining the difference between a company working good and one not?

"Isn’t this exactly underlining the difference between a company working good and one not?"
Not necessarily :)
There are lots of companies who have been around for 20+ years and know exactly nothing about their products or their users AND love killing off perfectly good software because a 3-year timer just went off.
Facebook and Apple come to mind.

No other ones? Really? 😏
I agree with you, but I would put a certain other company in ☺️
Last time I read something about users complaining with Apple, I’ve seen frankly scaring similar answers than the ones I see here (tech stacks, need to move on, “but it will continue to work”,…)

Korg is preparing a new Keystage. Midi2.0 with PolyAT has the same knob and subwindow placement as NI's MK1, making it the next choice for other MK1 users. I think it would be okay to switch to MK3 if NI would show me the upgrade price from MK1 before Korg's price is announced.

We (myself included) are getting way, way off topic here.
I'm going to have to ask that we reign it in. This is intended primarily as a thread in which we:
- Announce the end of support for Kontrol S MK1
- Make available KK 2.9.4 for those users, as Native Access 2 now carries KK 3.0
- Explain the reasons behind, and impact of this move, after nearly 10 years of active support
Of course, any such decision invites commentary and feedback. This is reasonable, as are any clarifying questions. I just want to refocus us back to the above bullets. Nothing more, nothing less.

As I just posted on another thread moments ago:
I'm reaching the end of my working day today (Tuesday, October 17th).
As of tomorrow (Wednesday, October 18th) I will be taking some time off to spend with my toddler after the end of a long release cycle. I say this only because I will be fully disconnected, in order to be fully present with the aforementioned force of unrelenting energy.
Meaning, I won't be responding here for a while. Please don't take my absence as a sign of inaction and please do try and keep conversations on topic, and respectful.
Meanwhile, some of my colleagues will continue to monitor various threads from various different perspectives, should anything critical emerge. Note: that does not mean I'm signing them up to be as present as I've been, but they'll be staying close to the conversation.
---
LAST, BUT NOT LEAST...
The team is already working on Komplete Kontrol 2.9.5. It will address some (not all) of the most critical issues that came up here, or elsewhere, since the announcement. In my absence, one of my colleagues is going to coordinate the upload, delivery, and messaging of this update.

True that - but it feels like Apple does this sort of "EOL" thing on some product over there about every second week and everyone keeps buying their stuff.
Apple simply says: "This is the way it is and the way it has always been. Now get yourself (and your wallet) in line so you are ready for the next one"

Wow - great news.
Enjoy your break Matt!

As I said, I agree with you. Never liked Apple’s politic (probably that’s why I largely prefer using windows than my Mac…but I’m forced to use iPads as tablets, since they practically have no competition, specially if you want to make music with them). But I must also say I’m the type of guy who largely prefer Apple’s “honesty”: This is how it is! You want it? You must follow our rules. Otherwise, chose something else.
It sounds strange, but like this one has more “freedom” to chose: you know where you are going and you chose if you want to go there or not.
Others pretending to be more “open” but then doing anyway what they want…sounds more as a lie to me

See? Maybe all this complaining wasn’t so useless as you said in another post ☺️

There exist a range of ways people chose to express themselves.
Those who were more vociferous shouldn't necessarily correlate the act of speaking loudest with results.
😉

Never said that. I talked about complaining. And, at least in my point of view, complaining doesn’t mean speaking loud nor being unpolite or rude.
And being vociferous is something positive for me. It means using your voice to raise your beliefs
I know you think I was one of the ones being unpolite, but if you’ll have time (not now, after your deserved family break) and the will to be honest, you can go back to read my posts to see if I was in any way not just exposing my points of view.
That said… if for someone having a clear idea and expressing his disagreement is in some way not respectful, I could answer that in my book defining others opinions “easy and cheap” is way more up in this alley.
And I’ll end my post with a 😉, since it seems it’s enough to pretend not being aggressive
😉

Perhaps listening to disappointed customers who express strong emotions as a result of the actions of your employers shouldn't be regarded as the customers being in the wrong?
We can only speak using the tools NI provides because they control the channel, that's worth remembering. They're a frustrating way of communication.

Actually - I don't think that of you at all. You've been very helpful! OK now I'm truly heading offline.

Have a nice break. We agreeing or not 👍🏼

@Matthew_NI Have a great time with your baby!!!
Just be aware that once they grow just a bit, they like to investigate things. My sweety has almost damaged my Genelecs, did damaged KRK Rokits and loved to play keyboards using hands and feet at the same time.
My KK S88 MK1 has survived, it is built like a tank. And he also loves Maschine Jam (so many buttons and colors) and Expansions. Mainly those tracks with beat and strange sounds. Loves it since age of three.
