Why does Komplete Kontrol Plugin Scanning take so long ? SOLVED !

Nope, nothing to do with your CPU.
I have a 6 year old i7 at 3.6 GHz and it does the job brilliantly (as i wrote before, 5 seconds to open and 5-6 minutes max, for a complete plugin re-scan)On KK 3.3.4

Well there's definitely something wrong going on with KK 3.3.4 on MY cpu.
I've attempted several times to delete and rebuild my database, rescanned my plugins multiple times, and there's plenty of effects libraries for example with NKS scripts that simply are not working, they won't even show up.
One load of 2.9.6 on my laptop, it all worked within seconds.

While I can sympathize with your scenario - oddly it feels like you are not telling us the whole story.
Still sounds to me like you have other entanglements holding you back here. If everything is properly installed, not manually messed with or changed or altered - there is simply no reason for KK 3.3.x to misbehave.
You also haven't mentioned Defender - which is notorious for slowing things to a crawl. Or any other things that are on this machine but have not been addressed. This is really not rocket science.

Defender has exclusions for all my daws, as well as anything NI. There may be no reason for it to misbehave, but it is. For example, I'm not able to view alot of USER NKS files ( Valhalla, Sound Toys etc. )I'm not doing anything different than I did on my laptop with 2.9.6 installed. And 2.9.6 loads up in a few seconds with all of my plugins,fx, nks..

Are you saying you have both v2.9.6 AND 3.34 installed at the same time?
That is not a supported config in any way.

No I'm not saying that. I have 3.3.4 on my desktop daw and 2.9.6 on my laptop. ( 2.9.6 was installed to test yesterday on the alyjames vst). Upon testing 2.9.6 on my laptop, which is inferior in every way. 2.9.6 scan blew away my desktop cpu scan times, which tells me, 2.9.6 is much better, but that's just my opinion based on the facts I noticed yesterday.
I'm not saying there's not people with 3.3.4 working just fine for them, yet I'm saying on my cpu, it's been a nightmare. I've done all the troubleshooting recommended on NI's website. Nothing has helped, I've rescanned 30 times, deleted and rebuilt the database, nothing has made this work as it just WORKS on 2.9.6 on my laptop.

I'm now going to delete the registry and every trace of KK on my cpu, and try reinstalling it. One should NOT have to even attempt to have do this, but I will.

What is your CPU? And why do you think that is the issue?

I keep saying it’s my cpu because apparently I’m the only one with this issue. Although there’s countless threads about similar topics and issues. A bit of sarcasm at this point. Other people don’t seem to have the issue! At least that’s what it sounds like. Yet unless I remove plugins, there doesn’t seem to be a fix. Just a bunch of work arounds from what I’m reading by limiting plugins etc.
I’m rebuilding the database after a deletion of the kk file in my registry, a reinstall and now rescanning. Hopefully this one helps !

Well after a deletion of the kk file in my registry, a reinstall and a nice ripe rescan for 2 hours, I can say it's still not working !
My Valhalla and Soundtoys plugins refuse to show up. ( still no clue why )
The only effects that will show up are arturia, izotope and native instruments, go figure.Oh well

I do not allow Soundtoys or Valhalla to be selected. But only use VST3.
ST are ILok. Check that out on you end.
Valhalla have nothing special.
And 2 hours for scan? You have something major going on there.VP

Yeah completely something wrong here. It's an issue with Komplete Kontrol 3.3.4 on my machine. My DAWs take seconds to scan. This thread has been going on for days and NI still hasn't attempted to check into it.
I'm just posting my daily logs of what's going on in the KK world using this product. As I mentioned my laptop with 2.9.6 took seconds. I have no idea on what to try now. I'm not going to delete my plugins for this app. I've deselected plugins, and that causes huge re-scan times, so I'm just letting it scan, but it fails to find the plugins I mentioned, yep somethings definitely not right..
If anything NI needs to do some check-ups on this issue.
Anyways thanks
Soundtoys and Valhalla are working just fine in Maschine 3.xx yet not komplete kontrol , superweird

Hit escape and it will skip it I believe (works on Maschine and Kontakt). Otherwise, I believe there are also workarounds posted online that involve working in your file system to exclude the automatic scanning execution file. I don’t really like doing that so have gotten by with the escape button.

I’ll also say that NI software is outrageously buggy and slow in many ways, so I always LOL when people highlight the long scanning. I know it is annoying, but really the least of our issues. I just dealt with a Kontakt 8 bug that causes any plug-in that has a similar name to another to not be recognized in the library (for example Analog Dreams will not be recognized if you have Analog Dreams 2). I had to manually combine the files into the one of the pair that was recognized to get it to work and do this for every instrument that had an unnecessary “sequel.” Took forever and honestly mind-blowing this wouldn’t be caught in QA. I also have white GUI in all Play Series instruments unless I manually load the NKI file from Windows Explorer. NI never fixes anything.

"This thread has been going on for days and NI still hasn't attempted to check into it"
Man, seriously this is what you expect? I can tell you right now that this won't happen.
Not because they do not want. But:
- Because your case is "one of a kind", not a reported bug by many.
- Because of the system information that you do not provide. Seriously, we covered any possible option that can be done through writing… what you need is either to provide the complete details of your computer and then we can try to help by checking case after case, or (better) someone with tech-level skills to "dive" inside your machine!
- Because neither you contacted the NI Support team, neither you tagged some NI personnel here! You just posted a random post in the users forum and in fact it seems that i am the only moderator who actually read your post. But i am not a NI employee.
So, yes, we can give good advises and provide a good level of help here. But we can just "guess", since we can not see inside your computer. What you really need to do, is to contact directly to NI Support, here and follow their instructions. They will send you a system check tool and you will send back to them the full report.
