Previous versions of recently updated Kontakt libraries / compatibility with K6 older libraries

I am also on Catalina (version 10:15:7). Stradivari violin can't be used anymore, it came with Komplete Ultimate 13 and Kontakt 6. I downloaded Kontakt 7 player (mistake!) and now get the error message "your version of Kontakt is too old to load this file". The support page and the downloads of previous versions didn't work either as the URL couldn't be found . I really need this instrument (120 bar project tinkering on failure!). Help?

I think it’s time for NI “installation specialists” to fix this mess and allow users to install what they want.

The “contact us one by one” is really a failure as politic (and also wasting a lot of support time that could be used for something else)

@LostInFoundation My last message was not intended for everyone, only the people struggling with installing the libraries with the installers provided in this thread.

all users having issues with the installers on this page

That means users who download and install the said libraries from these posted links. There shouldn't be a problem installing the said libraries, but some users might require a little more help.

As I've mentioned before. Yes, we know it's a pain point, it's a complex topic and there will be communication soon on what can be done and what not.

What eventually is a complex topic is why some users have problems and some not. The other part is not complex at all if you think it would be enough to give users the access to previous versions installers like it was before in NI site. If a user has problems with newest version of NA (or has accidentally installed a newer version of a library not working for him), it would be enough for him to install a previous version, without even having to contact support.

That part is caused by a NI choice, not something complex and unexplainable

Absolutely! And it is a truly puzzling choice.

I guess a lot more users are running into these issues but simply don’t rely so heavily on Kontakt that they feel the need to spend time fixing it. They just won’t use Kontakt anymore. This mess is probably way more destructive than NI realizes.

I'm receiving an error message when I try to install the download of previous versions:

"No library found under the registered installation path. Either move the library back to its original location or re-install the library before running this update."

May be because I am using an external hard drive to host NI. Is there a way to resolve this?

Updated the thread with 5 new libraries that were just updated: Butch Vig Drums, 40's Very Own Drums, Empire Breaks, Karriem Riggins and Rudiments.

This is a different issue than this thread, please create a dedicated post.

Sorry - meant to say I'm receiving this error message when I download the legacy files from this thread

@Alex Stone Still, it'll be easier if it's a dedicated post, there are already so many comments in here that it will just make things worse. The other alternative, as I mentioned before is to conact our support, you'll find the link. Thanks for understanding.

No worries, think I have resolved it anyway by looking at the other comments. I had uninstalled the original software. I reinstalled the original and then ran the legacy installer and it's got me past the error message.

Greetings. Can anyone using Maschine with MK3 and Jam confirm, these new updates for K7 work with those controllers?

@darkogav I am not entirely sure I understand you correctly. I have K7 Player and Kontakt 6 full version installed and everything up to date through NA2.

When I try to use the plugins messed up by NI I have to check "always use latest version" in Maschine's preferences which is a bummer, because now K7 player hogs all launches, even those that don't need it to run. But yeah, if you do that, stuff will load and run.

If you prefer to have Kontakt 6 full load up with stuff that does not need K7 you are f'ed, because NI "forgot" to connect the plugins which need K7 to run to the right VST
