Right, if you mean interesting because of the hit and miss behaviour.
It seems that even today, still very few companies are capable to properly implement touch screen control, and even fewer to implement working gestures.
IMO, no touch screen is better than one with erratic behaviour.

Propability and an option for different numbers of steps per pattern lane are essential today.

Probability is nice, but the true power comes with repetition ratios („play every third of four repetitions“). That mixed with probabilities yields truly interesting results.
