Why is there no special offer for hardware for Komplete Ultimate+ Customers?

I wonder why I never saw any offers for very good customers of NI Software Products, like "Komplete users" are.

It its only the other way round with e.g.:

Summer sale: Get additional free software with a hardware deal.

Is there no support or benefit for us reliable NI users?

    Have never seen any NI user (like say me since 2001) get a standalone hardware deal just because I own a ton of software product.

    Does not make a lot of sense either as where would one draw the line? Exactly how much $$$ (or what stuff) would I need to qualify? Sounds like a nightmare to calculate right from the start…

    1. That's exactly why I ask this question here - NI didn't calculate and distribute that much for "already" good customers.
    2. That's only a matter of inventing a nice system once which can be calculated automatically → AI

    I was a freelancer and had to calculate every single service… bad excuse ;-) @Vocalpoint

    Can you give any examples of companies that do this (offer discounts on hardware because you own their software)? I'm not aware of any.

    Hardware has a very different marginal manufacturing cost structure than software.

    Of course NI is making deals on software: You'll have the cost for coding it once and everytime you sell a license you earn money. As a developer you have low costs on every additional license - especially in times of download content. Some credit card fees, hosting costs. At some point a product has earned its development and any additional sold license is almost pure profit.

    With hardware you'll have to pay components, assembly, packaging and shipping (to warehouse and another time to the customer). You have much more cost per sold unit compared to software.

    It is much easier to give discounts on software compared to hardware. There is a reason that NI can discount Komplete bundles and other software up to 50% during Summer of Sound but not Komplete, Maschine or Traktor hardware. Of course there are sales on hardware, too. But with much much much lower discounts as on software. And in other sales there was often only a discount on Komplete software if you bought it as bundle with Komplete hardware.

    And to be honest: I think 50% discount on Komplete updates and upgrades is a very good deal for existing Komplete customers. This year first time buyers only got 33% discount on Komplete bundles.

    Well you asked. As noted I have been a NI customer for almost 25 years and not once have I ever thought they “owed” me anything just because I purchased a pile of stuff over the years.

    I do feel like I got my “value” back via years of Komplete upgrade anyway.

    You can either accept the reality of the situation or not. Your call.

    I wouldn't have asked, if it's not so obvious that discount on hardware is so often on offer and the other way round it's not and I didn't want to offend you personally. sorry.

    And you're a brave customer, fighting for NI, well done!

    Sorry, the other way round please: Software discount is, hardware discount is not!

    Like all things in use here for my creative work - NI is like any other vendor - I like their stuff and make a very specific choice to purchase and use it in my work - along with product from many other vendors.

    But make no mistake - I have also iced plenty of vendors as well over the last 25 years for missteps, substandard service, vaporware, poor support etc etc.

    Overall tho - I can confirm that regardless of who they are (or were) - none of them has every offered me a hardware deal regardless of what I bought previously from them.

    So if you are thinking there is a hardware deal for you - based on your NI purchase history - you will be waiting a long time.
