"can't load into playing deck" problem

in Traktor Software & Hardware

i use traktor from 2011 with not a problem at all

in traktor 3

I have my setting to "loading only on to stopped decks.
However, a few times this week I get the error "can't load into playing deck" even when the deck is stopped.

I've tried everything to get it to reset, but the only workaround is to turn OFF the option to let me load into playing decks.
does anyone know the solution to this bug?

i have no trust to the programme now to play live …

    It's a known bug. No fix have been found yet.

    i can't believe that a huge company like native instruments

    leave their costumer with such a serious bug with no fix….

    feeling so sad ….

    Had this happen live to me 2 days in a row this weekend.. 2025.. Traktor 4 with a macbook air pro M4…

    I've been getting this bug for 10 years!!

    Unfortunately, although I am a fan of the company, I have lost faith in the reliability of the program and this saddens me greatly...it is not possible for such a serious company to have a professional program with a problem and not take the time to solve it....

    I just had this happen today , deck b gave me deck locked error ,first time in over 10 years experiencing this and then when I ask Leo about it, I found out it goes all the way back to 2013. How the f did this ancient bug find its way into the latest version of Traktor , is there no qualified tester to isolate this bug and issue a fix ? No wonder Traktor is dead last in DJ software. I have have had my S4 MK3 lockup mid performance multiple times but this error is just plain infuriating. Shame Shame Shame…. I expected better from this company.

    If you disable the 'only load into stopped deck' option (Preferences→Loading), this problem goes away. It's a matter of practice to not load a track into a running deck, much like it is to not press PLAY/PAUSE when a track is still on-air.

    You could say the same about sync or bpm detection. I can do without it, as seen by vinyl DJs. But it should just work.

    A few years back NI said they can't reproduce it, well then maybe they should add more logging to traktor or find another way.

    Sure. It should just work. But there are so many things that should just work and just doesn't, i don't expect any of them to get solved in a timely manner. Or rather, i expect only the very newest bugs introduced with new features or new gear to be dealt with. When i look back at what has been done in the past it's become a pattern.

    Do you think it will change? I do not.

    SO, for my own peace of mind i keep the bar low and work with what i have.

    same on Traktor pro 4.....never had this problem with 3 or 2.....but apparently the only solution is to deactivate the option.... we can see where Traktor is in 2025...... bravo
