I bought a used MASCHINE mk3 in January 2025 it didn’t fit my workflow and I sold it on eBay and sent it off in Feb 2025. To my Astonishment the licence is locked for 60 days and the buyer is now receiving a BRICK. Who does this? I’ve bought and sold 100’s of pieces of hardware, Akai, Moog, Arturia this is not something I’ve EVER had to deal with, what kind of policy is this and how does it reflect on NI as a company.

Your best bet is to talk to support and ask them to release the licence. You can do that starting on this page - https://bit.ly/n1acc

Hey, thanks. I have started a ticket. The problem is the MK3 has been sent to the new buyer, and the policy, in my opinion, is quite hidden, and this is deceptive and needs to be changed. I have been buying and selling used and new equipment from Moog, Arturia, Chase Bliss, and Korg + for many years and have never come across these kinds of dystopian requirements for hardware. Honestly, I will give NI till tomorrow, Feb 25th 2025, for the licence transfer. It's costing me my time now to deal with this, and I do not appreciate that it's poor customer service/policy. What is NI afrid of locking (bricking) their hardwear? Makes no sence for the consumer.

Alas then imposing deadlines is not expediting things. Also we in the forum can not do anything to assist you with transfers or registrations , not even forum Customer Care can do that , at best then Customer Care can nudge an already initiated ticket/process , all such issues are handled exclusively by N.I. Account Support.

If your license is listed as non-transferable, you can learn more about the types of licenses and restrictions on our page here: License Transfer: Why Is My Product Not Transferable? , Ref. : Quote Matt_NI : All you need to know about License Transfer

In case that you need guidance contacting support : Please read : how to get support !

Interesting feedback, a bit useless. I’m a retired legislator looking for a project to occupy my time, I think I’ve found it! Let’s see how far I can take it will make a great YT channel. 😉

I don't see how I can assist any better since I have provided the available information , and as I wrote then we in the forum has no power over any of this.

As a 'retired legislator' then you most likely knows that rules and legislation is needed and exists for a reason 😉

Don't know how else to put it ? Are you not here also ?

'we in the forum can not do anything to assist you with transfers or registrations'

'we in the forum has no power over any of this'

it is so , how else am I to put it. Also , then please be aware that while we use English as a common sort of platform to communicate then not all of those that participate here are native English speakers, so while you may think poor of other people trying to assist you then some of us are actually doing our best to both try to assist and to communicate with you 🙂

Wow, starting off with the threats, and the forewarning that this will not be a friendly exchange.

Well, I might get in trouble for this, but I think you are being threatening and even abusive.

Starting off by saying you're a "retired legislator looking for something to do" just because you're unhappy? And threatening to put your dissatisfaction all over social media…as if it's going to scare us? Puh-lease, we've seen your type before.

That is, the unfriendly, abusive, and threatening type. The only thing missing is "…and then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down!"

The person you are arguing with is a hard-working volunteer. Do you know what that means? It means that he makes time to help here and for that, he DOES NOT GET PAID. He probably doesn't even live in your country. And now you've accused him of being AI. And you threatened to make an international incident of this. With somebody you've accused of being AI.

Do you see how preposterous you look?

Welcome to the land of the governed, "Mr. Politician". Here where we live, we have to follow rules. If there's a rule on license transfers, we have to follow the process. We have to sometimes wait in line.

Maybe as a legislator, you were always allowed to go first without waiting. Maybe you were allowed to yell at people and threaten them with punishment, or maybe losing their jobs. But the fact is, the people you governed sure had to wait in line; probably while being in fear of you and your tyranical anger.

Politician or not, every one of us has known people like you. The kind who likes to throw your weight around with people who can't fight back. Or in the case of @PoorFellow, somebody who is too good-natured to fight back.

But here, we try to respect each other. And if there's a rule we need to follow…like "please open a ticket for that issue"? Well we don't threaten our volunteer forum mods, that's for sure.

    ==================================

So, shall we try this again? Do you have a question about licensing, or would you like some help? If you would like to open a ticket, please have a look at one of Poorfellow's or @mykejb's earlier posts; They both gave you valuable information.

I think product transfers are locked for 60days , maybe due to return options , in theory you could buy something from a shop , transfer the license, then return the item , without anyone knowing , because they don’t immediately check the registration of stuff when it’s returned .

Please let us know if you need help with the instructions given to you in one of the prior posts. We will do our best, but you might need to open a ticket in order to make real progress.

    Good luck.
