Oh, of course, you're right… I guess I look at the MPC plugs as I look at the Maschine internal modules, fully designed for it. On AKAI usually the plugs are made for standalone 1st and PC version is an afterthought while on NI it's the other way around, ground up VS ported over. The M+ advantage would be the ease of adding new instruments/fx from an existing huge portfolio which never actually happened… so, yeah I guess it's different but the same.

Er… NI/Maschine handing over a ton of details of their proprietary communication protocols to their #1 competitor? Hard to imagine when Maschine itself doesn't even bother fully supporting KKS MK3 like it did the previous versions… It's like asking KKS-MK3 owners to get an MPC. That would be crazy… very fun, but crazy.

Anyway… it looks like NAMM will be interesting this year.

Wishful thinking 🤔 it would be interesting and foolish they would kill off customers for there controllers like myself. I'm primarily a MPC user but do support maschine content and kontrol mk3 and kontakt..

Depending on the complexity of the back end script and how much of Kontakt these play series plugins actually use, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that these are scripted using the content from the play series, but actually using the sample engine directly on the MPC, the MPC sampler is way more advanced than the Maschine sampler, so we shall see.

If anything, an (autosampled) MPC Sampler version is way more probable than Kontakt (6, 7, 8 ?) running native on yet another platform and processor architecture. The latter would involve NI providing lots of resources to make it happen - with very little expectable ROI.

Could you also add some type of Retrospective Recording for when someone forgets to press record? Another great feature would be incremental background saves that could easily be retrieved in case of crash or accidentally overwrites. Thanks!

Well… It is indeed a collab:

We got a bit offtopic tho, someone make a thread if you wish to discuss this further.

There are a lot of suppositions and projections in this post. Basically, cope for Maschine+ - which I would personally never waste money on.

I'd just get an MPC One+, which actually has a better recording workflow, better I/O, better on-device workflow (touchscreen, etc.), an [add-on] Instrument/Plug-in ecosystem, a smaller hardware footprint, and far better development/support from Akai (I don't expect bugless software/FW, but I do expect prompt fixes).

Also, stating that "it's everything that you can read on the front page of Cubase 14" is blatant fake news.

The Maschine+ cope is heavy. People go out of their way to justify this unnecessary, overpriced, underpowered machine.

    You do you, but please…

This begs the question of why you're here. If you like MPC One more than M+; you'd presumably like the MPC software better than the maschine software. M+ is just the software without the GUI/Mouse/keyboard. The MPC would have better i/o than a mk3. You like the workflow better. It has a smaller footprint. I assume akai updates their software more than NI updates maschine.

    Why are you here?

This is not Kontakt running on MPC. The instruments have been rebuilt for MPC with collaboration from both companies.

LOL, I don’t know how to digest this

I said before if you can't beat em join them..

All in all it's a good move for NI they can focus on software now..

so NI… for ppl that were still hoping/waiting for maschine updates.. anything coming any time soon?

(or is this a subtle nudge to get users to move to the MPC platform?)

competely diff team working on Komplete to integrate with Akai? Maschine team progress unaffected.. still working full speed?

Our Sound Designers worked with their Sound Designers to rebuild the same instruments inside of MPC.

It is not Kontakt running on MPC.

Meanwhile, our Maschine development team is working hard on the next update to Maschine Plus. @Chris_NI can fill you in.

TL:DR they're two separate efforts involving different people
