I thought I would use audio export more but I have ended up with intricate MIDI routings with a drum rack for each Maschine group. I wish it could be simpler than it is….

Too many self entitled people in here who think they doing NI a favour by being a Maschine user.

You got 12 years of updates for F-R-E-E, in which case some of those updates should have been charged for.

People seem to think that 3.0 is THE LAST UPDATE EVER, and fail to consider that NI will continue to update Maschine 3.x for likely another decade, just because your feature request isn't here now doesn't mean it won't be in the future, hang on to your $30 and wait until 3.1 is launched or 3.2 that satisfied your needs.

If you are working with 2.x now then you can still work with 2.x, just because something new comes out doesn't mean you have to use it.

People use Logic Mac Pros from 10 years ago because they work, yes there new features in newer versions but if it does what you need then do what you should be doing, make music.

@NI - bang up job, keep em coming. (especially a JAM 2.0 fingers crossed :) )

Personally I think there’s enough DAWs to choose from already. I can’t see NI making a DAW that has any kind of potential to lure people away from their current DAWs. It would simply be a waste of money.

I use Maschine, I also use Cubase Pro, I’m happy with Cubase.

Agree with you there enough daw out there and since battery have been neglected and not updated why not make a full blown battery maschine version for the 100 plus sounds packs to use with all the NI effects as a plugin in our daw of choose?

Which functionality would you love see added to Maschine from Battery?

I would like the effects added to Battery that the expansions come with. Also easy routing in your daw..

Yeah I've suggested this too - the main reason I think Battery is struggling as a product is NI have 2 products covering such similar ground and clearly Maschine is the favoured one, and yet many users do still use and like Battery despite its flaws and lack of development so why not integrate them both?

I have stated that in multiple threads. The need for Battery is becoming less and less of a factor, though, with what DAW developers are putting out. Right now, it isn't all that useful to many people beyond its utility as a repository for NI Expansion Content.

Many DAWs have better Drum Samplers than Battery 4, these days.

So, it has entered that weird sphere of existence where it isn't really pulling its weight commercially, which makes it unjustifiable to invest in it…

But the reason why it isn't' pulling its weight is because it has fallen behind and has been out of development for so long.

It also sint' a very good sampler for one shots/single samples, which has caused most produdcers to either use Maschine (as a plug-in) or buy Serato Sample (unless using DAW Stock Samplers, which have gotten really good over the years)…

There is hardly any scenarios outside of using expansion groups/kits where it has any purpose.

That's ignoring the fact that it's practically unusable on a 4-5K display unless you blow your entire display up to ~175-200% due to the UI not scaling properly. And that defeats the purpose of having a HiDPI display entirely (it's like getting a 14" Laptop with a UHD display - complete waste of power and money).

Hello! 100 plus packs and most don't use there software!

Think about it as a cubase user and other ... when you see new release pack come out.. all u hear and care about the kits.. NI did it to themselves they tried to catch up to the competition and they never will breech cubase never! So please stay in your lane..

    @Cretin Dilettante

Honestly, if I were in charge of NI, I would have consolidated Battery & Maschine into one thing

Yeah but then you either dumb down Maschine to only be 5% of what it is and does or, you complicate the heck of Battery by adding tons of Maschine things.

Pretty sure Battery users don't want to deal with the complicated routing that Maschine requires, or the limitation of only 16 one-shots just to name a couple of things.

On other hand as a Maschine user I dont want to be limited to one shots like Battery is, no chromatic one-shot instruments for 808 basslines for example.

With that said, Maschine which is supposed to be way more advanced not having round-robin, note-off (like ozon mentioned), a way to have more than 16 slots, etc is very stupid…

Tell me, machine 3 continues to use only one processor core? Or did it help with multi-core? Thx.

Maschine has been multi-core since for ever, 2.0 at least.

What it doesn't use is hyper-threading, I doubt this changed but i dont have a hyper-threaded CPU atm to test.
