Exciting to see this evolution of the Kontak/Kontrol ecosystem. I bet there is gonna be a LOT of such stuff emerging over the next year. The groundwork is now in place!

i also only had hardware graphics for a few Arturia products until i did the database reset as in this article: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018591137-Product-Pictures-are-Missing-in-the-Komplete-Kontrol-Maschine-2-Browser

Worked for me, thanks!

UJAM moved a lot of their products to be NKS now, so should be updated on the first post:

Of course, most of those are in the bedroom producer pack which is on offer via the NI store right now. The ones i've tried seem pretty well integrated and a good level of control out the box.

Only if they support NKS2 but that isn’t clear

The parameters aren't in tabbed groups, but it has the full graphics display i.e.:
I don't know what else is a giveaway, but the keyswitches also change depending on the context of the instrument (i.e. if in player or instrument mode)

NKS 1 can have the full graphics- I think these look more NKS1 than 2 but I might be wrong

Hello , Yaron from Ocean Swift here.
I saw Porphyra Hybrid mentioned and I would like to chime in.
This library does indeed take FULL advantage of what NKS2 and the Kontrol Mk3 keyboards have to offer.
On the Polyphonic Aftertouch side, over 130+ snapshots with really creative and meaningful PolyAT enabled sound design.
On the NKS2 side, every single parameter of the instrument is available via the NKS2 mapping, in a clear, logical and thought out way. Every parameter also correctly and immersively uses the full NKS2 parameter abilities such as bipolar knobs, switches, menu entries and more.
Furthermore, the NKS implementation is dynamic, meaning that if a certain effects is selected, its parameters are shown and available, and otherwise not - just like an expected user experience when using the instrument GUI.
In short - we went out of our way to make this THE instrument and experience for Kontrol Mk3 users, give us a go! The experience is forward thinking, tactile, expressive and quite enjoyable for the user!
Shamelessly plugging, due to the high relevance, it is as of this post on intro offer! →

@Matthew_NI What kind of things do you look at as part of your QA process, and how much influence do you have over partners around their NKS2 implementations (e.g. design standards)?
I know you haven't completed QA on the Arturia, but I think there is a lot that needs to be improved before I would want to use them, e.g.
- Non-obvious control names
- Multiple controls for the same thing (e.g. separate controls for LFO rate depending on whether or not is it synced)
- Controls not using the new graphics (e.g. on/off)
- Too many controls grouped into a single section
- Order of sections not always intuitive, and inconsistent between plugins (this is a tricky one - do you go for consistency between synths, or follow the layout of each synth?)
So far I have only tried U-He Diva and Arturia NKS2 plugins and I found Diva to be far superior, from the layout to the way it dynamically updates when you change between oscillator and filter models. Arturia's NKS2 support feels "thrown together" in comparison, almost a token gesture to be able to claim compatibility.
Is Diva representative of what we can expect for complex instruments? If so, then I think NKS2 has a bright future, but if it's the Arturia approach then I'm less optimistic.

You are experiencing the difference between an official NKS implementation that's undergone QA, and an unofficial one that should not have been shipped, and has been released without our permission as it's yet to meet QA standards.

Thanks @Matthew_NI - good to know that what Arturia have shipped isn't indicative of the standard we can expect. I will reserve judgement until they ship the finished versions 👍️

Here is how a "proper" NKS2 implementation should look and behave on Kontrol Mk3 for a big product (one with more than a few simple controls). I will probably keep this video unlisted as it was done quick with the phone, but here goes:

A thing of beauty

Not many Heavyocity Instruments and non from Output. After a year, not great. The lack of support on older instruments is discouraging.

Great work @Ocean Swift, looks really well thought through
