MacOS 14 Sonoma issues with Native Access

@plepola I hear you but things are not that simple. We have a lot of products so testing all products take a little while. Also Apple changes it's OS every year and even though their beta phase is long, once the new OS release is done, the new beta starts shortly after. On a side note, I believe none of the major DAWs are officially compatible with Sonoma: https://www.production-expert.com/production-expert-1/macos-sonoma-compatibility-the-ultimate-pro-audio-guide
For Native Access, the Native Access team has conducted tests, and are still doing so, it will probably one of the 1st products to be officially supported. Regarding the issue you have raised back in September (products stuck on calculating time if I'm correct), the Native Access team is currently looking into it.

Thanks for the quick response. This is a major issue; referring to the discussions, I'm not the only one suffering from it. Fortunately for us, I haven't noticed any other problems with Sonoma. I hope you find a solution to this soon.

There are more and more reports regarding issues with Sonoma and Native Access. Most of the reports mention products being queued indefinitely.
First of all, please note that Sonoma is not yet supported, as stated in this article: macOS 14 Sonoma Compatibility Statement
However, it seems the issue is most of the time with installing or downloading. Our support can provide installers, so please get in touch with our support and please mention you would need installers and for which products: http://bit.ly/NIsupport_install
The Native Access is actively working on MacOS compatibility as we speak.

As mentioned earlier, I can download with the links you provided or use my Windows laptop to get the libraries. I can also install the libraries this way, and they work. However, several of them then signal "update" when I open Native Access. And trying to update I again get queued forever. So I suppose I am not getting the latest version of the libraries this way?

@Kaiwan_NI Same problem here. Didn't realize the message early enough, so I am already on Sonoma. So far everything is working fine. But I bought the new Ukulele instrument today and am stuck with "Starting to download"
Support just closed my ticket. How do I get the installer Jeremy mentioned in this thread? Can you please help?

Should be this one:
I assume downloads will only work if you have a license. If not the moderator may remove the link again.
What you get is an .iso that you have to mount and then transfer the folder inside to to library folder. Maybe afterwards you have to repair or direct Native Access to the folder.
There are libraries I cannot succesfully download this way or using my pc. I hope the NI team will soon come with an update solving the download problem. I imagine it a minor thing, negotiating download access with MacOS or something. It is clearly there Native Access gets stuck in "queued" . So at least a beta for a Native Access that works, please.
I am getting my Kontrol S61 mk3 tomorrow. But at least I have something to work with, I hope.

For now use Native Access 1.14.1 to install libraries on MacOS Sonoma...Worked For me.

Thanks a lot, you two. Actually NI support was kind enough to also send me a download link (zip, not iso). Just realized it today because it has landed in spam at first.

Great thanks to harsheric, you saved my day.
My Kontrol mk3 arrived today. However, I could not make it work without the Hardware Connection Service. Native Access did its usual trick with queueing download forever, and the Hardware Connection Service was not in the link I was given. So it looked like a major disappointment with my new Kontrol. Then, however, I got back to this thread and found your post.
Not only could I download the Hardware Connection Service with the Native Access 1.14.1, I could also update all my libraries which not possible before.
May I suggest the developers at NI take a look at the older version and transplant the download functions to the current version. Then no one has to be queued forever again.

Just wondering if there is any update on Sonoma compatibility for Native Access already. I invested heavily on instrument libraries, which won't install right now...

Just use the older Native Access 1.14.1. It works. You can download it from NI. I just googled to find it.

Absolutely agree!

Bud, this is just something you learn in computer music. You never update to the newest OS when it drops. You typically stay one OS behind to ensure stability. This is not an NI issue, it's a universal fact (with only a few exceptions in the music landscape). Just keep your computer behind the OS curve if you make music on it. I am just now installing OS 13 on my computers, not 14... 13... because stability for music is the goal of these laptops - not the new widgets from Mac OS. No lives are on hold if you update, but your music apps may be.

NEVER update to the newest OS on your music machine until ALL of your plugin and DAW manufacturers have statements ensuring full compatibility. Stay one OS behind as a good rule of thumb.
