Komplete Kontrol S series MK1 keyboards End Of Life

That’s a completely different point, and I’m aware of that (which doesn’t mean I must accept it)
But…frankly…I think I’ll stop on this kind of discussions…
To use someone else piece of resistance, now I understand why “this is how the world goes”…because there are people who think like this, and allow it to go like this.
At this point, I would just love that the world gets divided in 2 categories, and the people thinking like this would have 0 access to ANY of the rights others have gained (also for them) fighting for them. They seem so happy in thinking that the world works with the people in a position of power being allowed to do what they want…
So…my kids will go to school because someone fought for their rights to education, someone’s other kids will clean shoes because their parents think “this is how the world goes”…
Or…to go back in time even further…my wife will spend her first night with me, while their wife will spend it in the king’s bed, because ius primae noctis is “how the world goes”…
But we won’t even have these kind of confrontations, cause those guys won’t even have the money to buy the discussed keyboard, since of the 10 beans they produced, 9 would be the king propriety and with the one remaining to them they would have to feed their entire family with 8 sons (all shoes cleaners)

Patch browsing on desktop screen is SO much better than on-device. Chasing the notion of on-device browsing and deep editing is a fool's errand to me.
My priorities are a great keybed, smartly-mapped expressive controls, and DAW remote control.

Out of curiosity… so why did you buy the new MK3? Didn’t you already have access to your priorities with your previous keyboard?
(It’s a serious curiosity, not some kind of irony)

I enjoy the front edge of product development. I wanted to experience the capabilities of NKS2 as they emerged... Smart mapping in particular.
Nothing new or fun was gonna happen anymore with a MK2 for me.

Ok. Thanks.
I just hope you’ll be delighted and surprised with what it will bring.
Just a little bit puzzled by why people are blindly buying it NOW that none of those features are there.
I thought that Forums’ universal law was “buy things for what they do NOW, not for what they PROMISE”, since how many times it gets suggested

For devices that are hardware/software ecosystems, I do NOT agree at all with the notion of "buy things for what they do now"...
A fundamental point of these ecosystems is growth.
Just be aware that evolution is messy.

And you are damn’d right! Let’s just hope they are of the same opinion

"There are LAWS about it… Are you unaware of that or you just want to constantly say everybody else is wrong?"
I am not saying you are wrong at all. You simply are simply speculating that every company "owes" us something because we bought something from them. That is your view - and that's cool.
But I am saying that actual reality is far different than any "laws" or your interpretation of them.
Can't help it if no company wants to honor their so called "obligation" to you.

Ok. I see your point now (as I already told you, you have a good oratory art and I think you love to take the role of the devil’s advocate, even when you don’t agree with things 😏).
My question at this point is only: and are you really so happy with this that you feel the need to prove anyone expressing their disagreement with this situation wrong?
I can understand you not willing to waste your energies against “how the world goes”, but don’t you think that using the same energies against people wanting to express their disgust for these kind of things is, in the end, just the same waste of energies? 😉
In the end you are not saying that what they do is right…you are just saying that they can do it because “this is how the world goes”. If everybody thought like you, the world (which, frankly, is a disgusting mess) would be even worst than what it is (even for you)

"Are you really so happy with this that you feel the need to prove anyone expressing their disagreement with this situation wrong?"
Here's my deal - straight up. I am not a MK1 owner - but I am a MKII owner. And I have my own "disagreement" with this situation.
Not only was I not happy at all with the way this played out for the MK1 crowd - after seeing what a disaster KK3 has now become for us MKII owners - I am really annoyed and feel like I am in the exact same boat.
I cannot move to KK3 and may not be able to for months or years (or never) until NI gets their act together and makes KK3 not only AS usable as KK 2.94 - but ideally MORE usable with better feature and function. If they cannot do that - what is the point of making it available to the MKII crowd at all?
But in the face of all of that frustration - what I am not doing is acting like a consumer lobbyist - slagging NI at every turn and waving their EULA in their face claiming they owe me something.
I have no expectations on any company obligations, no intent of "sticking it to the man" because I feel cheated or any of that.
I am just guy who owns an NI keyboard. I bought it because it helps me create my music and I will use it to the best of its ability for as long as I can. If that keyboard fails, dies or even goes unsupported (which is inevitable) - I move onto the next thing.
That is exactly how "happy" I am with this situation.

This exactly prove my point:
Of one thing I’m sure: no one in the whole world is REALLY like this.
The difference is just between people who do care only about what happens to them and people eventually trying to make things better. For everyone.
The former has an accurate name: egoism. Which I do understand is something in the matter of facts very healthy (at least at the moment and in the short term, until you find yourself on the other side of the barricade).
The latter, I can admit, can be called disillusionment. But sometimes it worked, and gave also to the egoists the chance to be it. And to have fun playing the devil’s advocate instead of sweating blood by farming 9 beans for the King.
Btw: the “actual reality” could be what 7.8 billions people eventually decide it would be, not what the remaining few with power want to impose them. That’s what the brains of the French royals understood, unluckily too late, while they were rolling in the public square with the rest of the heads.
So…is it better to help the royals understand how to deal with the angry crowd or let them push things to the limit till their heads will be rolling?
Isn’t it better if we (and you) get something better and they stay healthy?

Probably the only difference between me and you is that you are ready to move in to the next thing.
As for me, I would prefer them to succeed so that I can continue using the things I love.
A form of egoism itself, I admit

Trust me - I don't really ever want to move onto the next thing :)
But I clearly understand that nothing is forever - so I need to be prepared to move on at some point.

On one thing they succeeded so well: making us think that 10 years (or less) is “forever”

I look at it like this - I bought a MK1 when it came out in 2014, and it's been fine up until now and I have no reason to expect it to stop working in the foreseeable future. Since 2014 I've upgraded my computer a few times, each time it cost a bunch more than the keyboard. I've had probably 4 phones, each one cost more than the keyboard. I've got a Macbook kicking around somewhere in the bottom of a cupboard that I bought at the same time as the keyboard and that's been EOL for quite a few years. Based on that, I'm actually pretty pleased about the keyboard. Just please don't mention Kore 🤣
