Traktor 3.6+ Collection corrupts when file path includes sym links / shortcuts
In Traktor 3.5.2 and prior, I had no issue. In 3.6+, when my collectionis saved, every track has the path reset to C:\
This is emphasised as collection.nml file size shrinks.
My track path does include one symbolic link / windows shortcut.
I can restore my collection from a backup and traktor loads it fine. However as soon as I exit and collection.nml is re-saved, all paths for every track in my collection is set to C:\[track file] - so when I next open the collection, no track can be found or opened.
I have reverted to version 3.5.2. Same issue occurs in 3.6.1 and 3.7.1.
Windows 10.

Can you try beta 3.8? Just curious to see if fixed.

It's really bad practice to store files directly on you C:\ volume's root. This can give issues with various programs as Windows generally does not allow files to be stored there. Create a folder, at least to put your files in. like C:\Music\ or C:\Users\<user name>\Music or the likes.

I don't think the OP was storing files on C: - Traktor was messing up the locations of files accessed via a symbolic link and storing an incorrect path.

Ah you're right. "every track has the path reset to C:\"

The same here. After updating from 3.5 up to3.8 all file paths are c:\filename
Is there meanwhile a solution?
Is there a bulk operation for correcting the path instead of consistency check?

Consistency check it is. The collection knows at least the filenames and so can find the files if you point it in the right direction.

Consistency check resolved maybe 80% of paths.
But I had to change my way of working. I use Onedrive to sync library, but have always used sym links. I had to re-architect my folder structure so that the user profile is in identical paths, and does not use any Onedrive shortcut folders.
It's not great that traktor is happy to rewrite an entire collections paths in one operation. But I have my workaround now.
PS Sorry I missed all your suggestions and replies earlier!

It still occurred on 3.8

No. I am using sym links. And after consistency check all links are broken again after closing and reopening Traktor.

Pretty sure it is a sym link related bug, that issue is easy to reproduce - suggest you find a way to not use symlinks for now, that is what I had to do.

i have a similar problem. i using forklift (mac, ventura) and i really love the forklift's symlink function, and it's working fine untill 3.5.3. but now, all my symlinks are not supported - what can i do?
