Komplete Kontrol S series MK1 keyboards End Of Life

Kontakt gets loaded in KK in any case. It’s the program that makes the libraries work. The only choice is if you want to see it in the “small” or “big” version.
Which doesn’t interfere with your request of an OSK for KK anyway.
All NI keyboards should be supported in KK 3.0 except S MK1 (even if I second the suggestion to stay far away from it)

"All NI keyboards should be supported in KK 3.0 except S MK1 (even if I second the suggestion to stay far away from it)"
Already seeing some folks in here saying that their A61 series boards are not detected in KK3 like this guy:
A61 Controller is not visible — Community (native-instruments.com)
Do not know if this is a bug or by design or what.
What is interesting is that all while the available oxygen has gone to discussing the MK1 "non-use" with KK3 - I cannot find any info on whether any other (lesser featured) boards are supported in KK3.
If there is such data - I have not been able to find it.

The A Series are part of the MkII series so should work with KK3, at least as well as the rest of the MkII range (ie NKS1 functionality but not NKS2)

Fair enough but has anyone been able to confirm this?

Yes I have seen this from NI, but posting on a mobile right now so my search capabilities are limited

I infer it by this Jeremy answer to someone asking why S MK1 could not be supported while A series does:
I hope I didn’t misinterpreted. It’s at page 9 of this thread, so you can read the discussion and make your own idea on it

Makes sense to me - but how I read that passage from Jeremy is more that the A-Series "tech" is newer than the MK1 and remains "supported".
Supported and newer is one thing but "supported" and "newer" and able to use KK3 is another.
I have not seen anyone post up actually saying "Here I am rockin my A-61 within KK3".
Another thing that is very odd is if you go to the NI website and lookup the A-Series for example and checkout it's Downloads - all you see is links to ancient versions of Komplete Kontrol like 2.1.2 and so on.
I would have thought that if the A-Series IS supported under KK3 - shouldn't a link to KK3 be on that Downloads page?

You are right: an official statement by NI about compatibility would solve all the doubts.
But…as you thought me… if A Series was not working, we would have seen a flood of reports. Or, seen by the other side, happy users spend their time making music, not reporting it working. Usually only unhappy ones raise their voices. Isn’t this the mantra?
This…plus: not that the reports coming in till now are talking about everything working flawlessly. No need to look for A Series. Also S MK2 and even the brand new shiny MK3 get reported having issues.
It could be a good question to other users, while waiting NI to do things the proper way and make a statement: can anyone with an A Series keyboard confirm he is using it with Komplete 3.0?

Pages of the site are updated now and then: till 2 days ago the page for new MK3 was still posting videos and specs requirements about MK2…
But…to add doubts on your doubts…checking now I noticed that in the Comparison page, under Included software this is what appear:
The specification (A-Series/M32 Collection) doesn’t sound promising (and also add doubts to their statement “S MK1 had to be abandoned cause it would require work to maintain it”. Isn’t this valid also if they have to make a special KK version for A and M series?)
Yes…at this point I think that an official statement about A and M Series is due

Back home now - fair point, yes I can confirm that, '"Here I am rockin my A-25 within KK3".

So you confirm that A 25 is working with all the bells and whistles? (Already answered by your edit👍🏼)
That makes the specification “(A-Series/M32 Collection) Komplete Kontrol software” in the web site even more awkward…
Maybe one day they will not rush releases and effectively release to the users when everything is ready: functions, cpu use not spiking, web pages,…

Well the A series doesn't really have a lot of bells and whistles :) It works the same as it does with KK2.9 - I would not expect to get NKS2 functionality but equally it's not losing anything (given the limitations of the A series overall)

At least on this they have been more than clear: ONLY MK3 will get NKS2 functionality.
I have no doubts on this

Nice! Thanks for the update.

Hmm.. But one of the features of NKS2 is the new parameter grouping. I'd think this part of NKS2 functionality would be available to the A series...
I'll have to check later with my A25 + KK3. I have not connected my A25 up to KK3 yet for any reason.
