Random discussion: NEW Traktor hardware coming soon?!

You can call me a killjoy now, but I don't get it.
For months, people have been writing about bugs and missing functions in the forums. And now NI introduces a new controller and everything is forgotten.
How blinded are you then?
The errors do not become less thereby.
Sorry, the controller looks good, but what NI has delivered the last few months in terms of Traktor, is anything but great.
Even a new and beautiful controller does not help.

I am happy that the sun is shining on my face today. I sure won't forget how cra(pp)y the world is. But that's for tomorrow. Don't worry, the cra(p) will wait for us all.

Personally, to me it is a very good-looking controller, well laid out. But I wouldn't preorder it, because modular is like a jigsaw puzzle and it can't be one piece and without knowing what the rest of the puzzle looks like I wouldn't invest my money without see what the full picture of the puzzle will looks like when fully assembled. Also, with the uncertainty of Traktor Pro 3/4 development road map. Even though we were given a road map the rate at which it gets updated doesn't give you a sense of confidence to invest your money. I understand why the next updated was internal to keep the secrecy of the new X1 controller. If the new update is just the integration of the new X1 controller a lot of users will be disappointed.

This "the uncertainty of Traktor Pro 3/4 development road map" (i.e. the long promised features/fixes that never seem to get addressed) is exactly the reason I won't be touching any new software releases, let alone hardware from NI, for the foreseeable future.
I do hope the Traktor team is able to pull this around still, but so far it's been a lot of no-shows this year on the software front with sub-par releases and yet again questionable quality control...

I heartily agree with the second part and i am sitting (happily) on pre-3.6 releases until an unbreak-edition sees the light of day for actual work. But i am curious enough to stress test new releases for the sake of progress.

For me a revamped X1 MK3 is not gonna cut it. The MK2 didn't really need an upgrade it was good as it was. The Z2 however... Though I can understand from a business perspective. Any DJ remotely interested in battle mixers has already jumped ship. And they won't be coming back.

In my opinion, releasing the new X1 shows NI is still serious with Traktor. I believe this controller was a long time in their pipeline. And I guess, there are some more hardware products to be released. But NI is still behind with Traktor´s software development.
I bet whenever we see Traktor Pro 4, it will look like the new X1 (colours, button shapes,..). But, this will be a long road of Traktor 3.10. , 3.11.,..
And as I am wild guessing, I clicked through NI´s store. I noticed that the Z2 and the small TraktorAudio2 (MK2) are discontinued and not sold anymore but they are still presented on pictures under "DJ Audio Interfaces" and "DJ Mixer"... Maybe placeholder for new products? Or mistakes by a site admin?
