Nuo Stems is used to created stems from "normal" tracks.

Version 3 got some fresh UI and a better algorithm. Can also use your GPU now for faster processing.

How does it compare to RipX?

The second video linked by @lord-carlos has the comparisons. It seems better than RipX (and also the other ones…only Serato seems to be on same level…at least for vocals). Which I didn’t expect.

RipX isn’t the best in town, but has many other functions that makes it a very good product

Thank you for the info lord-carlos

I don't believe stemverter exports as a traktor stem file. I wish it did because I've been super happy with the quality.

Im very disappointed with Nuo Stems. At first i used the demo version and i found an issue with Traktor Utilites section, for some reason it doent work (as the owner says it does) with all the tracks and you have to change manually the beatgrid and the bpms in some cases. I contacted the owner and informed about that issue with the demo version and he said that i have to buy the full version and everything will be fixed. Unfortunately this was a lie. The FULL version also have the same issue and he never contacted me be back to tell me how to fix this. One last thing i would like to mention and this one is a major problem, is that i can't use Nuo Stems anymore because it stucks on Checking your license message and then nothing happens, and guess what THE OWNER NEVER REPLIES .

Hello, Is everyone ok with giving your UUID out for this software? This is the first time that a developer asked for my UUID and I am a bit concern about it…

the model used by nuo stem (ht demucs i think, from facebook) is opensource.

if you have some experience with python, you can run this for free using this tool:

    https://github.com/axeldelafosse/stemgen

i made fork of it, that simplify the process (opens a file-open dialog box to select one ore many files) and is solely focused on creating stem files from mp3 and wav.

What we need is to get hold of the STEMS SDK that NI were giving out 8 years ago.

I'm sure it's about (and I think the library is built into Stems Creator you can take out and use in command line, but I had trouble with it) - if we could use this we could then create the .stems.mp4 files for Traktor free of charge from command line.

Yes Nuo! This guy has some major understanding of Stem Separation and especially the live playing separation of stems in relation to CPU usage. Or GPU utilization.

But. Traktor has still done a very good job with the current Stem separation and file handling. I think the current iteration works fine. But of course ultimately an automated separation is what everyone wants. Without a major CPU usage impact.

nuo stems uses ht demucs model if i am not wrong (and ht demucs ft which is slighly better, but also slower i think.).

The code i took from axel can uses the same model, and you can even speficy it to use ht demucs ft. it supports GPU. also, i added support for m1/2/3.

anyhow this is much faster than traktor built in feature. the only advantage of the traktor built in solution is that the hot cues etc are shared between the original and the stem file. that's the only plus i found to it…

i am attempting to convert that into a standalone .app file, but did not suceeded so far. but it's super easy to run from command line (check the read me file)

if you have some basic terminal/python skills, i encourage you to give a try to it :)

i tested it on macos, but it should also work on windows, with not too much work.
