It's a common thing for a lot of us to compose and sketch ideas on the go. Some of the most popular topics for non-battery powered grooveboxes are the posts about adding batteries to said grooveboxes.

Yeah, I often see people with Maschine plus working on the train or on the bus. Last night I even saw someone on a bike with a Maschine plus. Incredible right?

Out teamwork has solved the ultimate path for Machine plus development.
Guaranteed to have a distinct place in the market.

Over on the elektron forums they do moderate to keep thread on track, which works quite well, not saying that's the definitive answer but I don't see a problem with mods calling out off topic posts to keep threads on track, don't let my low post count fool you guys been here for years but under a different account..
Anyhow back on topic, I've been on the fence since the m+ was realeased, every time I think "yeah I'll get one" I get this kind of sinking feeling that it's never going to live up to my expectations, I love my mk3 and mikro and made peace with the glacial development of the software long ago and still get a lot out of it but having owned an mpc live for a period it became pretty clear to me that perhaps the m+ will never reach that level of useability just from a q.o.l standpoint.. push 3 even with all its launch bugs just shows what's achievable in a limited hardware framework, admittedly that bar is raised considerably higher than either the m+ or the mpc in hardware terms but it feels to me like the m+ was designed with little in the way of headroom to allow for further development of software or additional instruments etc.. it's a shame really, n.i. had an opportunity to really shine with the m+ and fumbled it, I'm still rooting for them to get back in the game though in spite of it all... If they could give us a stable m+ with an os that has the q.o.l features of a modern mpc I'd be ******-a-hoop..

Exactly right - might as well just use a laptop.
The elegance and simplicity of iPads completely derail the minute you try to plug something into it.
Regarding Push 3, the device itself looks sexy but I never got down with the Ableton workflow. Tried it several times, just didn't care for it.
It's not making anything obsolete with that battery life.
Mk3 is still my primary songwriting tool. Nothing comes close to the instant variety provided by Komplete.

Those trend graphs certainly prove Maschine has plenty of longevity, contrary to that other comment.

Do not think of plugging something into an iPad.
Instead, think of "plugging the iPad" into something else. The Smart Connector can allow for an elegant mating of an iPad with a controller to yield a unified device.

Anybody remember this?

This same approach revisited 2024 with a range of “dumb” controllers!
Smart!!!!

How much do we need to hear the word "iPad" more? The iPad, the imagination of iPad, the connector of iPad, the coitus if iPad and his owner.
