How to view Traktor rating in external audio player or File Explorer, and vice-versa?
Hello,
I have given star rating to all the tracks in one of my music folders inside Traktor and I was hoping this rating would be readable (from the file's m3u tags) by other programs – but it isn't. If I right-click the file in the Windows File Explorer --> Properties --> Details, I can see a "Rating" property but this isn't Traktor's rating. It is only filled in if I have given the track a rating inside my audio player (Foobar2000). If the track has only been given a rating inside Foobar2000, this rating is not visible in Traktor.
This leads me to the conclusion that the Rating property that can be viewed in the audio player and in File Explorer is not the same as Traktor's Rating property. However, Traktor's Rating is written to the file because when I transferred the tracks from my desktop to my laptop and checked consistency, the rating did appear inside Traktor, as well as the genre I had added for each of the tracks. But where and how can I display it in File Explorer and Foobar2000?

Traktor's Rating is an internal setting, you can not see it neither on Explorer neither on other programs.

As lord-carlos said, it is an internal tag specifically for Traktor and not available through other software.
It is a different tag than the usual Windows rating tag (the one in the image below):
However, there is one software who recognize Traktor tags, it is the Mp3Tag.
But still, you can see those tags only inside this program (as Extended tags) and not in your Windows explorer or in a standard music player.

OK, thanks. But how then is the rating transferred together with the file to my other Traktor installation on my laptop? Is Traktor doing some sort of background online syncronisation of the rating between my two installations? Because there is no other explanation: the rating travels with the file or is synced between installations.

Traktor writes some stuff into its own tag into the file. It's some proprietary tag format / encoding.

That's a good starting point. If it's a tag, proprietary or not, it should be able to view its contents after the necessary adjustments. Even if not possible in File Explorer, this should be achievable in Foobar2000, which offers a ton of customisation options. I'll keep looking.
