Scratching on Maschine

With the solution I proposed you can record automation and correct/alter the scratch itself. Like playing keys and mater quantise or whatever but applied to scratching.

Well we were talking about feeding Traktor into Maschine... if we are talking about analog scratching vs digital systems I'm agree with you of course.

For me Scratch Track approach is the middle path for non-die-hard tablist allowing for realtime TTM instead just draw like Wave Traveller and others.

About accuracy, even hardly will be better than analog recording, you can see how far this approach can go following Sxratch project.

But their tools isn't so advanced as a plugin like Scratch Track (or almost a year ago where these videos are come from).

A lot of that is simply practice and adapting, it is very similar to a guitarist moving further away from the amp that they are using and tapping.

A quick example is some people being slick on a PT01 but on a 12 they are absolutely terrible, because they never used a 12, I know a ton of tablist now who swear by Phase once they got used to it and adapted, I still prefer vinyl myself, but Phase and the Rane are intriguing and definitely the future.

As for scratching in Maschine, unless you are doing something special (Unlikely on an S3, with no disrespect meant to ANYBODY who cuts, no matter the kit) but you may find it much more useful to just duplicate the pad in Maschine, reverse the duplicate, then change the start point of the reversed duplicate, now trigger the first sample and the duplicate and you will have perfect forward backward motion that you can sequence directly in the pattern.

But my main suggestion would be get a cheap PT01 and some Yo 7"s.

I know bro… but that generic answer when I’m trying to point some interesting tools (that btw I suggested should be implemented inside Maschine sw at the old forum) made me sad :(

I was trying to go further over those kind of “only drawable tools” precisely :/
