Traktor S4 MK2 --> Steinberg UR22C

Hi Folks,

some time ago I got Maschine and a SteinbergUR22C running.
That's very OK … several connections possible —> latest choose the Yamaha Steinberg Asio (shared) ports … so that I can use also my NI Keyboard with Komplete CC……

Now gettin the Traktor running…. using the Traktor same way → Steinberg UR22C (WASAPI(SharedMode)) works fine {by the way I'm wondering about different "Namings" of the ports within NI devices}
…as mentioned works fine …BUT there's no (seperate) monitoring(headphone) the headphone jack on the Traktor is disabled due to the use of the external Steinberg; the UR22C does not provide sep. interface so that I could monitor seperate by headphone…..
So I am trying to use Traktor (internal) Traktor Kontr. S4 MK2 (ASIO) interface; using/connecting from the balanced output with an TRS / XLR cable to the input - jacks of my Stein. UR22C (adjust routings etc.) whichs provides me now the headphone jack on the Traktor S4 hardware is working; so I can monitor and/or get the pre-listen running….
However…. even with a very low output adjustment (Main-Level) on the Traktor S4 … the Steinberg shows me very quick a clipping on it's interfaces….

Does anybody made similar experiences / can confirm / may have a solution?

    Hello,

    you need to use 1/4 inch jacks on the steinberg inputs and set input 2 hi-z off. The cables you use are wrong you need trs to trs.

    Hi Uwe,

    you're right / thanks for that.
    However…. due to that the UR22C have combi ports (XLR/TRS) I was assuming to connect the Traktor via XLR cables (which works, but clipping) now I have used TRS / TRS cables and get better results …. looking into the tech. spec of the Steinberg I can identify the difference ;-)

    Maybe I need to look for an UR44 because I need more ports incl. XLR for the Mics

    thanks again
