Hmm, I don’t program my own patches (I do tweak presets a bit, if needed - makes me a lesser human being for sure), shock and horror 😜

Massive X, with all expansions installed has more than 3000 patches. Browsing and filtering them efficiently is of paramount importance, IMHO.

    I don’t think I’m social media freak, but who really knows… 😉

Hopefully some friendly competition forces NI to optimize Komplete Kontrol. Maybe there are some limitations with the third party hardware integrations that needs fixing?

I like Analog V Lab too but own a Komplete Kontrol S88 MK3 (because of Kontakt 8) so I prefer to use Komplete Kontrol, although for each generation release of Arturia keyboards the appeal grows stronger.

Who is complaining that this synth is too complex? It's one of the most straightforward wavetable synths on the market. Almost everything you need is right there on the interface in one page. Serum is more complicated than this. I'm absolutely baffled at the kind of people NI is listening to for feedback. All I can say is I hope they fixed the issues that actually need fixing, so at least I can ignore this Player view entirely.

I moved this post the Massive X/Synths board and thread on user feedback

Thank you for updating the Community. The news about NI's commitment to their Synths portfolio has me quite excited. And the tease about Reaktor has me salivating…

So the MODS open this discussion but have no interacting in posts here 2 days left be thread is closed and no daily post from the mods .. this explains NI on all levels.. I hope NI is seeing customers losing confidence in your so called road map that never ends..

The only person who is (hopefully) going to answer our specific questions - is Simon.

Ideally he will do that before the discussion closes out.

If you are expecting mods to chime in here with answers to the questions or share any other key NI insider info - you might be waiting a while.

The Mods here are not N:I. employees and as mentioned by VocalPoint then any N.I. answers should come from Simon_NI or other N.I. . I personally have noticed though that sometimes there appear to be a tendency to that N.I. considers the time the thread is open as the time when questions are gathered and when thread is closed is when Simon_NI answers (at least that has happened earlier). Also then usually then Simon_NI only answers what he wants to answer, meaning an answer is absolutely not guaranteed.

I don't think a Player view is beneficial either. It would add a new layer to the UI with the purpose of hiding away features. I don't think there is a real benefit. There are two types of users.

Group A: People that don't know how to use synths and only use presets.

GroupB: People that know how to operate synths.

Neither of these user groups are benefiting from a player view. But a player view prevents people in Group A from eventually migrating to Group B.

This is kind of a design philosophy question. Do we trust users to learn how their software works or do we protect them from "complicated" software. I already disagree with that design philosophy in windows. But there you could argue that many users are not technically well versed. But music producers are not within that group.

I respectfully disagree. I know how to program a synth on a basic level (what control does what). I have no time or inclination to create my own patches from scratch. I want to produce music, not to program patches. Nothing to do with protecting a user from "complicated software", at least in my case.

Massive X, at present, has very inefficient patch browser. any improvement on that front is more than welcome. But perhaps not for you. Hence, the Player view for me and a "classic" view for you.

There have been replies to several user posts. Unless you ignore those, and pretend that they aren't there, of course.

An improved preset browser is something that I would much rather like them to spend their limited development time on. But this is exactly what you will NOT get when they say they add a player view. What you will get instead is something like pigments 6. A second Tab that has the same but less controls.

I didn't mean offense to people using presets.

But, when you use presets, don't you ever change these presets? A Player view would only give you access to macros, or very few parameters.

If it’s going to be the way you say, I will be disappointed for sure. We shall see…
