Download speed is too slow

The download time has nothing whatsoever to do with the download speed available. The NBN speed was about 45mb/ses and on my phone about 140.The download speed from NI as stated averaged 1-2 gig /hour. Download speed may be fine in Germany but here in Australia it is beyond appalling.

One other thing I noticed was a discrepancy in speed between different items. Some a lot faster than others. May have to do with where they are hosted from.

Also what about this "Update" ******. Native access is broken and has been for years.

None of these areas has anything to do with NI whatsoever - yet they are taking all the heat for it.

Well NI has influence over what CDN they use :) Which is a big part.

If multiple different users have slow download, while they can download fast from other providers, upgrading to a new wifi 7 will probably not help ;)

I had routing in mind when I wrote my comment. And I stand by it: the victim blaming is appalling in this thread.

Without evidence - we have no idea what NI does (or has done) in terms of a CDN - but let's assume they made a choice. And that choice is awesome for you and I - but a buddy of mine in another city (Same province) - who is hitting that same CDN - cannot download anything without a hassle.

That has zero to do with the CDN and everything to do with exactly how the bits and bytes get to his house. Not all ISPs are created equal.

And everyone in this thread misses the bigger picture. NI downloads are regulated and speed capped. Also Summer of Sound continues - and the download framework is being pounded daily from all angles.

Finally - wi-fi? If you want this to actually work - regardless of where you live - you need to be hardwired.

For all of the NI apologists, sorry but this IS an NI problem. I have no issues downloading anything from anywhere. Only NI is excruciatingly slow. UVI Portal (ie large sample libraries) is super fast in comparison to Native Access. Stop apologizing for what is an ongoing subpar user experience. It took 2.5 hours to download the Fables update today. Brruuuuuttttttalllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. I'm considered a newcomer simply because I have never posted before. I'm not new to this. I've been an NI user/customer for 20 years. And quite frankly, the experience has gotten progressively worse. It took 5 business days to get a response from "support" (regarding a different issue) and the response I got was a link to a topic which had nothing to do with my support query. Perhaps it's time to divest from NI. It's a sad thought as they were once best in class: true innovators and leaders. How the mighty have fallen…

If the problem is at the NI end, how do you explain others being able to download lighting fast without any issues? We're all using the same software, accessing the same site.

My last downloads took literally seconds. It took longer to install than to download, and even that could be measured in minutes.

As has often been stated (including in NI's support pages) problems are more likely caused by an issue with the connection/route between the NI server and you. As also stated, using a VPN can overcome this by diverting the connection, making it take another route.

As also mentioned, there is now a direct download link as an alternative to using Native Access.

    This.

With all the complaining going on - it is very curious that not one of these folks cares to even entertain the slightest discussion (or offer their own logical explanation) on this undisputed fact.
