Do priced for Australia include GST?

Fair enough. Your screens are much different than mine.
But as Jeremy has said - this forum is not the place to solve this.
Connecting with NI Support is the solution.

Thanks. Yes, I've written to support, got the chatbot to refer to support, and had support referred at least twice in this thread. I've even asked Gemini, CharGPT and Grok, gone thru NI FAQ's, googled, looked on reddit etc etc :)
Support are simply not replying, unfortunately. This really can't be so hard for someone knowledgeable to answer.

Sorry we're in the middle of a sales special. Someone will get back to you ASAP, I've added your last comments in the ticket, hopefully it will make things faster.

I agree that the if it were GST that it would have been $330, and that it does look, more like a credit card fee, but you don't get charged those on purchase. In my case it should be interest free for 3 months.
What I am suggesting though, is that GST is a local taxation system where as being online form oversees would probably have its own independent tax fees. Similar to the way we have to pay import tax on international purchases over $1000. Though that's possible less now.
On the other point of what you are saying with local traders charging less than an NI online order, well that is a bit of a mystery. First guess is that buying in bulk may have reduced the cost on their end so they can pass on the savings. Or perhaps the keyboard being sol with that bundle isn't the latest generation?!?0 -
Okay, so here's an update after much back and forth with support, and finally ordering and receiving the product (a controller keyboard + Komplete Ultimate package)
This should be news for all Australian buyers, but also, I suspect, for any buyer where tax for their domain is not specifically added in checkout - before paying.
The GST tax in Australia IS INCLUDED with the quoted prices on the NI Web Site.
The invoice you will receive clearly details that tax has been paid - this would be useful if customs targeted the package, but of course, you only get the invoice after you've paid…
My package came straight through to me, with no added delays, customs tax or charges.
Honestly, if someone from NI could just have told me this in the first place when I contacted support, or someone here in the community could have definitively clarified all of this, all would have been much smoother.
As it turns out, the purchasing and delivery and associated paperwork and handling of GST taxes was superb by NI, but I could only find that out by taking a leap of faith based upon some rather non-committal and nebulous words from a support person. PErhaps this post may assist others in the future.
I'm glad I went ahead with it, but was so extremely close to not buying on the NI site as added GST would have made the prices here ridiculous compared to local retailers (albeit the local retailers were not offering some of the Summer of Sound addon goodies).

Hey @ToeCutter I am glad that in the end you took that leap of faith and had a good surprise. Thanks a lot for providing this feedback. I will forward it to the corresponding teams. I'm sorry that we were not able to provide a more definitive and clear answer to that, hopefully this will bring more clarity, even internally. I'm also keeping note of that for similar requests in the future.

Thanks @Jeremy_NI . I like to update these things so that the next person who searches can find perhaps a result they're looking for.
As I mentioned, I suspect this applies to all international customers who do NOT see tax added at checkout, AND who in their country have a FIXED RATE of tax to be added. In Australia, it's called GST (goods & Services Tax) and it's fixed at 10% for all purchases, all prices.
I may be wrong here for other countries' residents, so their case may be different for that of Australians, but not seeing tax upon checkout does seem to indicate that the price you're paying and being quoted at NI is inclusive for country taxes, where those country taxes are a FIXED RATE, as in Australia.
So to boringly reiterate this another way, for those who don't already get it: if your country has a fixed rate of applicable tax, then it is reasonable for NI to add that amount to your quoted prices, as it is a simple and permanent thing to do for them. However, where your country has variable rates applicable perhaps for different price levels, or different jurisdictions within your country, then how can NI add this for you? In this case, you will see the tax calculated at checkout.
This is what I believe is happening based upon my experience with this, communications with NI and here in this topic. This seems to be the case for Canada as per examples in this topic.

As already noted - Canada is just as “fixed” as Australia (at 5% GST) but my base price quoted is NON inclusive of tax.
My price quoted is exclusive of tax and then the GST (5%) is added on via the invoice at the end.

Okay mate - I was just trying to help other people.

I would think your invoice would look like mine - Price and then tax added upon invoice.
But your tax ( for reasons unknown) seems to be baked into the prices directly in the NI Shop. Mine is not.
The why is a mystery.VP

Not sure about the law in Australia but here in Germany it is required by law to quote prices including taxes. Exceptions apply for trading wirh commercial companies though.
In the United States prices are usually quoted without taxes and added on checkout.
I expect if local prices in NI webshop include or exclude taxes depends on local law.

My Lord, how will any of us ever know! 🤣
Well, at least I know for me here in Australia.
For those who do not see appropriate taxes added at checkout (which is definitive), it may be worthwhile looking into it and then making a comment around these parts. You will be helping others in your country.
You don't want your country's Customs Departments holding up your shipments and demanding additional fees unless you have definitely not paid relevant taxes and fees here at NI.
Of course, most of what is sold here is software, so there's no border issues with that, however the hardware items here are typically big-ticket, so again, worth checking if in doubt.

Hey everyone, please note that different countries, different legislations and different setups are at play here. If it was simpler, we would not have this thread and my colleagues would have been able to give an easy answer.
So in any case, if you have any doubt for your case and your country, please get in touch with our support so they can guide you through it.
