Do priced for Australia include GST?

I've looked for a search feature in these forums, but could not find one. ALso, the Chat featire is not loaded at all right now, so sorry for this question.

I'm about to checkout on a big order here in AUD for delivery to Australia, and there's a warning in the checkout that I must pay GST (an additional 10%).

For Australian buyers, is this correct? Surely GST is included in the quoted prices here.

@ToeCutter I've asked confirmation to our webshop team, the prices displayed on the webstore for Australia are shown before tax. Local taxes are applied during checkout.

Okay, so here's an update after much back and forth with support, and finally ordering and receiving the product (a controller keyboard + Komplete Ultimate package)

This should be news for all Australian buyers, but also, I suspect, for any buyer where tax for their domain is not specifically added in checkout - before paying.

The GST tax in Australia IS INCLUDED with the quoted prices on the NI Web Site.

The invoice you will receive clearly details that tax has been paid - this would be useful if customs targeted the package, but of course, you only get the invoice after you've paid…

My package came straight through to me, with no added delays, customs tax or charges.

Honestly, if someone from NI could just have told me this in the first place when I contacted support, or someone here in the community could have definitively clarified all of this, all would have been much smoother.

As it turns out, the purchasing and delivery and associated paperwork and handling of GST taxes was superb by NI, but I could only find that out by taking a leap of faith based upon some rather non-committal and nebulous words from a support person. PErhaps this post may assist others in the future.

I'm glad I went ahead with it, but was so extremely close to not buying on the NI site as added GST would have made the prices here ridiculous compared to local retailers (albeit the local retailers were not offering some of the Summer of Sound addon goodies).

I don't know the answer to this with 100% certainty so I've tagged this for customer care. That way one of the NI guys should spot it when they're looking at the forums.

You will have to pay GST is that what your area of Australia requires.

Here in Alberta Canada - I pulled the trigger on my Komplete 15 ULT "update" yesterday and paid GST (5%) as required by AB Law:

As per above - taxes are not included in the price - this is normal and expected.

Thank you for your reply. I'm not 100% sure about this, as regards CAD and AUD transactions. I have re-opened the question.

The reason why is that I do not see the same "+ Tax x%" as you show. There is no added amount, merely a comment that says we are responsible, which as I've said, does not make sense, as the pricing at local Australian stores is nearly identical, and certainly not 10% more than here at NI.

I wish to buy from NI if I can, as they add Choir Omnia and other things if you buy here. I have confirmed with Australian retailers that they do not add the same goodies.

So my question is are the checkout prices here at NI inclusive of Australian GST.

I can confirm the NI prices are pre-tax in Australia. I recently bought Komplete Ultimate (50% off) for a flat $300 AUD. Looking at my credit card statement I can see that I was in fact charged $309.98 for the transaction.

Technically, in Australia, prices shown should be final and inclusive of sales tax. Companies are not allowed to bill us separately for it. Though, I have noticed some do. However, I'm not so sure about buying from overseas. I get the impression they are excluded from this rule.

Eitherway, with a $300 AUD purchase you are looking at around $10 additional tax. My guess is if it were a $100 purchase it would be a third of that, around $3.33.

Sorry, but $300 AUD purchase pre-tax will be exactly $330 AUD after tax. This is not making sense. GST here is 10%.

Further, there was nothing added to my checkout price.

$300 to $309.98 sounds more like a credit card charge added on.

Despite several replies here, I'm still not sure any of this feels right…

@Jeremy_NI There was nothing added in checkout. I'm confused.

I'm looking to spend several thousands here, so the GST impact at 10% is worthy of investigation, yet if it IS applied, would make the "Summer of Sound" discounted pricing FAR more than what retailers here in Australia are charging with the tax included, and that doesn't make sense to me at all.

I'm hoping to secure the added goodies with the current deals here at NI, which is something the Australian retailers are not adding to the sale.

My first screencap was what was onscreen AFTER I finished my purchase.

Here is what was on screen before I completed the purchase:

    image.png

Clicking Continue here - completed my purchase.

So there is no mystery - the tax amount was clearly shown before wrapping this up.

Everybody in here has already pretty much confirmed you will be charged local tax. You either need to accept that idea or buy your stuff locally and abandon the freebies.

Been shopping in the NI Shop for almost 15+ years now - tax is part of the process. And always has been.

@ToeCutter In any doubt, please get in touch with my colleagues from support, explain them your case, include screenshots, etc…You can get in touch here: https://bit.ly/NI_Support_All

Okay, okay - not wanting to flog a dead horse here, but I am NOT being charged a tax of any kind, so what I'm being told is not applying to me, hence my continuing to question this. Please see screenshots - they are not the same as what you all above are suggesting.

I've also added below a screenshot from a local retailer which shows tax-inclusive pricing here in Australia. Why would NI's "Sale" cost be $2123.50 + 10% Tax = $2335.85 and the exact same deal be available for $2084 here. That would make this NI "sale" so much pricier, it does not make sense, again, hence my questions.

I have screens from using either PayPal or Credit card - same thing - no tax being charged.

@Vocalpoint In the "Review Your Order" screen - as I said many times now, there is no tax added. you clearly haven't believed a word I've written.
