Blurred Waveform Crash & Opening Of Second Traktor Pro 4 Programme In Background

I am using Traktor S4 Mk 3. I have experienced a random crash of the software when using Traktor Pro 4. The waveform becomes blurred and the sound is lost. Searching this website, it appears to be a common complaint, with both with Mac and Windows systems. It's usual to blame the operating system or PC/Laptop set up but I'm not sure this is correct here. It didn't happen with Traktor Pro 3. I have no issues with the CPU or memory and repeating the same mix does not cause the crash to occur again. In every case, when it does happen, I've found that a second version of Traktor Pro 4 has opened itself in the background. This second version has to be 'ended' in Task Manager (or a computer reboot) before Traktor Pro 4 can be re-opened again.

I have followed all the recommended settings for the PC and everything else seems fine, this problem is entirely random. I would like some suggestions from NI, if it's a software problem, as I can't find anyone in the community pages that have found a solution.

    Hello and sorry for late reply, your post was somehow "lost" (and i actually found it accidentally).

    Personally, not only i never had such issue with Traktor but i found it impossible that a second Traktor instance will suddenly opened "magically". This is usually happens vice-versa. The second instance was already opened, from before.

    This can happen if your previous Traktor session ended-up abnormal. In such cases, always use the Task Manager to see if the app continues to run in the background, and terminate it.

    Or (if this issue only happened 1-2 times) then perhaps you open it accidentally.

    have this same issue as well in 4.x, never had it happen in 3.x either… no rhyme or reason i see and cant repeat it. However one common theme when i do see it happen i have two or more tracks going and one is about to auto stop at end of track… i've never had it happen while just one song is going… this is maddening and hope it gets addressed. maybe the qa team should try dj'ing? or perhaps nick williams should perform with it in front of an audience and we see how fast it gets fixed?
