its an interesting thing if people buy the komplete collectors edition, and are unable to utilise the projects…
as i understand it… a user can use battery for kits&samples & komplete& kontact for loops&samples, but cannot listen to the projects as a whole without the full version of Maschine…

its just one of those things… that people are not necessarily aware of when going full hog on komplete collectors edition before understanding the nature of the beast

The NI eco-system has its share of pitfalls which the average joe walks into… completely oblivious of the beast and how it works!!

and you can expect a sample generator to be on the horizon

In facts, they already alpha tested it. It was called “Kompanion”… but… as for Sounds.com… it lasted very little. The web page already disappeared and it’s not accessible anymore.

Announced on June 2024, it is already M.I.A. From various months

Native Instruments has always had 3 distinct product lines—Komplete, Maschine, and Traktor. If NI wants to bundle every current software, libraries, and expansions that they carry, they would most probably called it an "NI Everything Bundle"—like iZotope has. As it is, they label Komplete Start, Komplete Select, Komplete Standard, Komplete Ultimate, and Komplete Collector's Edition under their Komplete product line including Komplete Keyboards.

Wait, you don't think that Komplete (Which was the original collection name) implies their 'complete' line of software?
When Maschine was tied to hardware, yes it made sense for it not be included, now you can buy Maschine without hardware, it should be included, especially considering how many Maschine expansions are included in Komplete.
Komplete was always production vs Traktor for DJ, so I can see an argument for not including it, however, with the lack of new software on offer from NI now, there is no reason not to include it, the only real things they upgrade now are Kontakt/Massive X/Maschine/Traktor.
The most common comment across the web about collectors edition updates "How many more pianos do you need"

NI, please stop being mean to 10 years old child who put 5000$ in Komplete, and give him his Maschine 3.

Then give each other a kiss and make peace.

In my opinion, Maschine should be included in Komplete, but it’s not and has never been.

Perhaps, before spending 5000 USD on software, best to check what one is paying for (‘what’s included and what’s not), just a novel idea 🤣

Maschine Software was never included in Komplete… ever.

It's a bundle with hardware controllers, or purchased separately.

I do think it makes sense for NI to bundle it with Komplete, but that is not something they've ever done.

Buying a Komplete bundle and expecting Maschine Software when they literally have a page telling you what's in it - and it doesn't list Maschine 3 - is crazy.

    Traktor is irrelevant.

I think Maschine should be included so that people have everything in the bundle to make music. That way, they ONLY need to buy Komplete Ultimate/Collector's Edition to hit the ground running.

But it's not like Steinberg is giving Cubase licenses away with Absolute, or Image-Line is giving FL Studio Licenses with Sonic Bundle. The expectation is weird considering this has never been the case, and they explicitely tell you this by not listing it on "What's Included."

Just becasue I think it should be that way doesn't mean it need be that way.

    No. We don't.

Komplete was called Komplete because it was a bundle of production software that offered you a "Komplete" selection of tools that crossed genre boundaries.

This made Komplete as relevant to Singer-Songwriters as it was to EDM Producers as it was to Hip Hop Producers as it was to Media Composers as it was to Sound Designers, etc.

This is why you get a smorgasbord of Synths, Libraries, Plug-ins, Expansions Packs, etc. in the bundle - something for everyone and every use case or production scenario. Even if you don't need a lot of this, you can still use a lot of that.

That's what the Komplete branding is about.

It has nothing to do with them bundling in their entire software product line.

Maschine is bundled with hardware, because it's a groovebox designed primarily to be driven from hardware. Traktor is the same. It's bundled with that hardware because it's designed to be driven from that hardware. Maschine and Traktor have literally never been bundled in Komplete, and up until relatively recently, everyone seemed to understand what "Komplete" meant in this scenario.

This is no different from inMusic. MPC Software comes with Controllers. Not Akai/AIR Insturments bundles or whatnot.
