This apparently is the solution for it (adding the "system-reset-v2.nut" to the root of the SD card as described here) : Maschine Plus stuck on startup screen . However then the problem is that the download on that page is broken and I don't have the file myself and so far I have been unable to repair the download.

The download is working here (on an iPad using Safari).

In case it is not working also for OP, here is the file I downloaded from there (zipped otherwise the forum would not accept it. Fun fact: the zip file is 652 bytes while the original file is only 82 bytes 😶):

Thank you LiF , but I think that you did what I did months ago , downloaded the file and didn't check the download. (actually then I did check the download I just did not know what the content were meant to be)

Even more 'fun fact' original post says that download size is more than 10 MB where your download is less than 1K :

I thought that the content were correct but now I am not so sure , ref . :

Exactly , but as you can see from my initial post then it says : "and I don't have the file myself and so far I have been unable to repair the download." , and 'behind the scenes' I have 'solicited' Sunborn to translate and fix the download link for me (as I did not know how to translate myself) (a matter of being encoded on old forum software and then new ?) and Sunborn just fixed the download in another post (Thank you @Sunborn 🙂) so I have now edited the original post myself and updated it with the new link to this file : "system-reset-v2.nut" . The reason for asking Sunborn to work on the second post was because I had already tried to fix the problem myself in the first so I were not sure if the download code were still OK.

@bitlaw , the download in this post ought now work : Maschine Plus stuck on startup screen

If you have a copy of the original SD card then check if that works better else then I think that you need to contact N.I. Maschine Support .

In case that you need guidance contacting support : Please read : how to get support !

I've had this issue for more than a year. It would sometimes startup if I unplugged everything and let it sit for weeks. But at the start of this year, it just wouldn't start up fully, always getting stuck no matter what I did. I finally submitted a support ticket. After trying all the things that have been repeated on this forum, NI told me it was definitely a hardware problem. I was given instructions to go to their repair site, paid $80 to send it in for a diagnosis; the $80 gets applied to your repair. Sent my M+ via FedEx to the repair site in NJ on Monday. They got it Thursday. They emailed me Sunday with the diagnosis: they needed to replace the "Q7 Module" and a "pad foil". Total cost for my repair was $395.34. They shipped it on Wednesday, and I got it Friday. Everything seems to be working fine. It's nice to actually have a working M+ again. Looking back, I should have opened a support ticket earlier, especially since this turned out to be a hardware issue.

I suspect many people who are still have the "stuck on startup screen" problem most likely have a hardware issue like I did, and no .nut file or system update is ever going to repair it.

I think that's the reason too. I think the voltage in the case that you can feel has something to do with it and is interfering with the CPU, That's exactly what it says on the back of the M+ interference with other gear. It's the same thing when you have a PC with a metal case and USB ports that are not earthed and the PC hang on when you use it. Also, controller mode always works with the Shift and Start buttons.

All I can say is, it can be turned back on, but sometimes it takes some time. Less when it stand any Time without Power, other thing is, when it turned on, never turned off again :-)

"That's exactly what it says on the back of the M+ interference with other gear."

To be fair, that statement is on all consumer electronics, mandated by the FCC. It's basically saying that the device should not cause any interference with other devices, and that it has to accept any interference from outside.

But when you talk about "voltage in the case you can feel", yeah you might have a serious issue there. I have never felt any kind of voltage from touching my M+ case. You really might have a grounding issue with your M+, and that could be kinda dangerous, not just for the device, but for yourself. The M+ power supply outputs 15 V, 2.66 A. That is not a nominal voltage/current. That can be dangerous. If you're having the stuck-on-startup issue still, I would suggest doing a support ticket, and also mention you feel electricity when you touch the case. That's clearly a hardware issue.

Support cant help for this Problem, its a Hardware Issue. They send me anytime just this file system.nut. I accept the Starting Problem, so much User has this. The only Probably is bying a new M+, and so long i bring it on after anytime its okay for me…..this with the voltage is for me too by other metal things not just by the M+...When i touch the M+ the Voltage goes away..but thanks for the Notice :-)

I thought they couldn't help me, too. But I contacted support, and they did the same thing (send me the .nut, etc). But when I tried everything they told me, and told them it still didn't work, they said "If all this didn't fix it, this not a software issue, it's a hardware issue. I will forward this to hardware support" And hardware support told me how to send it in to get fixed. In order to get to hardware support, you have to make sure you tell the software support that their solutions are not working.

I know many users have this issue, that's why I posted an update to tell people that for them, this may be a hardware issue, as it was in my case. I was hesitant to start a support ticket, because I was afraid they would just give me the .nut file, and be done with it. But the support really took a look at my problem, and realized it was a hardware issue.

As for the "feeling voltage" thing, please be careful, especially if you say other metal things you have also do this. I have a degree in physics, and work with electronics as my day job, and this "feeling voltage" thing can be harmless, but more likely, it's really dangerous. It only takes 0.1 amps to stop your heart; the M+ power supply outputs 2.66 amps. A current from there trying to reach ground through your body could kill you instantly.

Yes, hardware support exists too, is not only about the software.

Out of curiosity: if they told you it was an hardware issue, what did they say for making you pay $395 for the repair? Did they say that the issue had been caused by you?
