Have you a solution to the Traktor pro 3 random clicking sound and audio gaps?

I have an option to change to the AMD processor, that looks like the solution?

Type 'edit power plan' into the Start button search bar - you should get a best match.

Power Settings attached. No option to change from balanced at top.

If you've got the CPU set to 100% then there's nothing else you can do. See what the AMD option is.

Still, OP could disable efficiency cores. It could work.
But that AMD with 8 performance cores and 16 threads is for sure more suitable.

Cheers for all the help. Was sold a bit of a dud. Will change it out sharpish and try again.

I think you might have got distracted with all the processor talk. Did you actually try increasing the USB buffer from 1ms?
Also, someone's suggestion of Process Lasso was a good one. With that you can stop Traktor from running on efficiency cores.

What version of Traktor S4 are you using? If it is the original one, that could be a problem, The sound card in the original is not the best. If you can use the Traktor software without the controller, while using the audio out of the computer without any issues, then maybe it's the controller. Also, make sure connect directly to the computer without any hub. Might also try a different usb cable.

Thanks for your help. The problem was with the PC. I bought an Intel i7 computer that did not have an i7 processor as advertised! Currys changed this for an AMD Ryzen 7 system and all now appears fine.

"I bought an Intel i7 computer"
No you didn't! The one you bought (as you quoted earlier) was an Intel® Core™ 7 processor 150U - notice it says 7 not i7. This CPU has 10 processor cores. An i7 has 16-20. They're listed separately on the Intel site.
Maybe a little cheeky of Intel to use such similar names, but it's a different chip.

It's just a naming change. The Core 7 150U is better than its predecessor i7-1365U, and both of them are 10 cores (2 P, 8 E-cores). You're thinking of desktop processors with the higher core counts.
Tbh, people need to stop thinking about "oh this has an i7 processor." There were fourteen generations of i7 processors. An i3 from a later generation is going to be better than an i7 from a much earlier one.

"You're thinking of desktop processors"
No I'm not. Before making that post, I went to the Intel site and specifically looked at the Mobile chips.
I was responding to his claim that he bought an i7. You say it's "a naming change" and that's exactly what my post is about. The name is not i7.

I have an Intel i5 1334u or what it's called like and it's an amazing processor for the money, I'm really happy with it for my mobile setup. Even my old i5 5th gen can run traktor just fine. I guess it's often an USB chipset issue or something like that. Some laptop manufacturers, if not all, have a support tool that updates everything even firmware and bios, I would also recommend to look for stuff like that on the manufacturers website or on the website from the chipset manufacturer for the latest drivers, sometimes updates are also hidden under windows updates/extended options (or something like that)/optional updates.

You claimed that i7 meant they had 16-20 cores. That's just not true. You've demonstrated why looking at the generation (first two digits on i3/i5/i7/i9, first digit on Core 3/5/7/9), and the suffix are more important than just looking at the performance tier (3/5/7/9).
If you get a processor ending in U, you should not expect high end performance, the U is for ultra-low power.
As a comparison, my ultra book type laptop has an i5-1340P. Older than OP's newer Core 7 150U, and in a lower tier, but a bit faster and twice as power hungry, as the P means "Performance for thin & light"
I think Intel just wanted to stop counting so high on their generation numbers, but it seems that's just confused even more people. Use something like
to compare, but bare in mind the massive power draw differences.-1
