Have you a solution to the Traktor pro 3 random clicking sound and audio gaps?

I have a new PC with a specification that meets all requirements to run Traktor pro 3 but I have a really irritating random clicking sound and short audio gaps while tracks are playing.
This is clearly a problem with the audio driver. Can anyone please provide a solution?

    Hello,

what audio interface do you use and do you use it with an asio driver?

Audio Device: Traktor Kontrol S4 (ASIO)

    Built-In Soundcard: Win Built-In Traktor Kontrol S4

    Multi-Core Processing

Most probably you are using a very low buffer size.

    Try 128, 256 or 512.

If you still have issues, please post a screen shot of your audio settings (Traktor driver settings)

I was using 512. I have now tried 1028 but see little difference. Screenshot added.

ugh… it is already too high!

I'm working fine at 128… but i'm not familiar with the S4

2 things that you can try:

    • remove the S4 from the "Build-in Sound card"! Use your computer's default sound or anything else, except the S4… it might be a conflict here
    • disable the Multi-Core processing (it might be a problem if your CPU is old or not powerful enough)

If you go on the settings, do you have the option to change the USB buffer size too? What do you have that as?

What processor do you have? Exactly, not just brand and brand type….

And also have you tried different USB socket? Not all sockets are equal. And have you tried different USB cable?

    Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) 7 150U. Changed socket from USB 3 to USB 2, doesn't appear to help.

Tried buffer size at 128, didn't appear to change the performance at all. Probably not that?

Check the power plan that Windows is using. Switch it to High Performance if possible.

    Power Plan is 'Best Performance'

Don‘ t make a secret, what PC do you have (Brand and model)?

1 : go into BIOS. Turn off all unnecessary components (like Onboard Soundcard, COM Ports…). Use only one Soundcard.

2 : turn off Hyperthreading , C-States and Enhanced Intel SpeedStep (EIST)

3 : debloat Windows or perform a clean installation of Windows

4 : use Windows standard driver for mouse and keyboard.

    5 : don‘t use Asio4all

Before you change anything: backup your PC and save orig. BIOS settings

That USB buffer is really, really low. Try increasing that instead.

My God!!! That is terrible CPU!!!!! Hard to say if Traktor can run satisfactory on it…. Maybe, if everything else is tuned fine.

That CPU is 2+8C/12T. Intel should be put to court to produce something like that those times…. Maybe try to switch off "efficiency" cores and/or switch off hyperthreading. Or try Laso (maybe Lasso) SW (I am not sure if free version would do) and set it so that Traktor runs only on performance cores (and ASIO driver for controller as well only on performance cores).

Maybe people, who have experience with Intel´s big.little on computers for audio could give you more precise advice. I avoid using such a CPUs at all and for audio it is absolute no go for me.
