When will NI reps really start to communicate and inform their users…?
When will NI reps really start to communicate and inform their users…?
Yes, I know it will be soon or the ‘quarterly’ marketing mumbo jumbo by The Chief, but I’m not talking about some vague time frames here.
Yes, a lot has happend within the last 3 weeks, but not what was promised (before closing topics)...
So where’s communication (other then Akai cheering-up its own customers), what about engagement or transparency…? I think we deserve some sort of update or heads-up if for some reason you cannot deliver somewhere within the expected time frame.
A maximum of one week… okay, could be the next Sprint, but three weeks later, no announcement on the Beta whatsoever. So what’s going in? Overruled by The Chief, switching priorities…? Than what about the final release within 2025/Q1…?
Or will it just be some little bits of history repeating…?
Like for the whole of 2024: More information on future updates M+
Absolutely no hopes for version 3 on Maschine+ any time ‘soon’, so let’s repeat:

Why are you expecting a change?
Native instruments have, pretty consistently, for the last 15 years, made posts on the forum that don't really have any basis in reality, if you are not used to this by now, then nobody can help you.
They have shown absolutely zero signs of change, even when they make very specific posts saying that they have changed and will communicate more, paradoxically proving that their posts still have no basis in reality by doing the exact opposite.
This is a very big market area now, you have much more choice than you ever have, added to this the second hand market value right now of equipment is very very good, moving on to pastures new will be much more valuable to any user that is upset by lack of updates from Native Instruments.
Older users will tell you, never ever expect updates from Native Instruments, if they do come, bonus.
But lets not pretend, you are going nowhere, because like it or not, you are going to use their product anyway, because they are very good, so what exactly does the moaning about updates achieve?3 -
OMG! What a complete …
Whatever.

For me, it’s clear that there are plenty of promises, but the level of execution is not satisfactory. Product updates and maintenance always cost companies more than they bring in profit. Employees mainly focus on developing new products, and it shows. They’ve admitted themselves that in recent months, the team has been working on Komplete Kontrol. We probably shouldn’t expect anything new before spring.

That NI is low on resources, that I can see. But a Product Manager missing the mark when it comes ‘a beta to be released within the next week’ (…about 3 weeks ago) and a ‘final release within Q1’ (…without planning ahead for the quarters to come), that I really don’t understand. It starts to feel like we are being played.

It starts to feel…
Nop. As Flexi tried to point you this is the common behaviour at NI since long ago. NI can enforce damage control with the typical corporative gibberish but facts talk by themselves. It isn't start with you, you are starting to feel what most users did.

Me watching the same info since 2023 „Maschine+ is up to date”

@AdelV you might want to adjust year.
Last real update was 1.5 (2023-12-13). 1.5.1 just brought fixes for that.

I get the feeling 3.0 was rushed out the door and had almost no features from the 2 years of user surveys because they were about to partner with Akai and knew we'd go mental if Akai MPC got served first after making Maschine users wait years.
I'd go Ableton or MPC at this point simply because promises of updates coming in "a few weeks" after 3.1 release or whatever turns into end of Q1 2025 if we're lucky, but Maschine is still too damn good, even with slow updates.
