Very disappointed in Native Instruments QA:

Process: Kontakt 8 [4500]
Path: /Applications/Native Instruments/*/Kontakt 8.app/Contents/MacOS/Kontakt 8
Identifier: com.native-instruments.Kontakt 8
Version: 8.1.0 (8.1.0 (R0), Copyright © 2024 Native Instruments GmbH)
Code Type: ARM-64 (Native)
Parent Process: launchd [1]
User ID: 502

Date/Time: 2024-12-01 12:03:00.2319 -0600
OS Version: macOS 13.7.1 (22H221)

<snip>

Thread 5 Crashed:: ProductScan
0 libsystem_kernel.dylib 0x19b434704 __pthread_kill + 8
1 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x19b46bc28 pthread_kill + 288
2 libsystem_c.dylib 0x19b379ae8 abort + 180

Anyone else see this?

It seems to call the Boost library (C/C++) to create a directory then fails miserably.

Yes, I have granted all the apps that I can find related to native instruments "full disk access": (kinda a ****** assumptions on their part about reasonable security access)
Yes, I have tried deleting all preferences, caches, etc, (that i could find) and reinstalling.

This is causing all sorts of other apps that integrate Kontakt 8 to fail as well (like komplete kontrol).

Also, the level of support from native-instruments (ability to actually contact someone) is also very disappointing.

    Where are your libraries stored? On an external hard drive? What is the format of the drive?

    How do the products show in Native Access?

    Have you followed these steps? Kontakt Crashes

    Tried using Native instruments chat - worthless. just puts me into a loop suggesting everything that I've already tried.

    For those following along that may find these bits useful:

    Libraries are on an external mounted thunderbolt array: NVME/M.2, formatted APFS, with about 900GB free. One complaint, native access after it was updated wanted to install all new libraries onto my local HD, (previously i had gone to great lengths to move everything off of my hard drive because I have massive amounts of sample library material, Video and other large files. So, I was a bit disappointed in that change in behavior. Corrected it and relinked/relocated what I needed.)

    Was also tempted to nuke "all my kontakt" prefs and support dbs, but that may leave me dead in the water and I cannot afford to take that chance.

    If the chatbot fails to answer your questions you'll be directed to one of our chat agents. I don't see any request from you in our system. I would recommend to try again and insist a little bit. We're in the middle of a sales special so we have a lot of requests at the moment and it can mean a little more waiting. Sorry about that.
