Kontakt7 - no dll!

I recently purchase a crossgrade to Kontakt 7 which downloaded and installed, but only the stand alone player.

There is no dll in the kontakt folder c:\programfiles\native instruments\VSTplugins 64 bit or the 32 bit folder. I have done a full search of my pc and there are no dlls for Kontakt whatsoever!

Run out of ideas :(

Thanks for the replies, it is fixed but I have no idea how!

The Kontakt 7 player was registered and the standalone version ran fine.

but the C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 folder was entirely empty.

I did a search of my entire pc for Kontakt*.* but no plugins found anywhere.

In desperation, I did a complete vst cache clear and rescan from my DAW in the hope that the computer fairies would magically make it appear.

I now believe completely in fairies as the VST now appears in my daw. Either that or my PC is haunted :)

You might by mistake have installed the VST3 to the wrong folder. You can try and use Windows explorer to search for the Kontakt 7.vst3 and see where it turns out to be. The installation path of VST3 is not optional and generally must be installed to the system VST3 folder

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Either way then even if you find out that the Kontakt 7.vst3 is installed at the wrong location then perhaps you better just leave things as they are at least until that you get a new problem , if it works now then let's just be happy that it works and there is no reason to make a problem out of that. Also you would have to reset / re-scan DAW again and what not if you tried to start changing anything.

Otherwise then I am sure that there is a logic explanation for your experience here, though it can seem as 'magic' if one does not understand how it works. Of course I wouldn't completely rule out that you got fairies in your home , you maybe have them also. 😁

Please check if you have registered the purchased cross-grade serial correctly on your account on the MYPRODUCTS, SERIALS, AND DOWNLOADS page , and see if Kontakt 7 is listed as Β Not registered or as Registered Products. If Kontakt 7 does not show as a registered product then please register the serial in the Add Serial in Native Access. You are supposed to be using latest version of Native Access for your OS (unless you are using a legacy OS , Mac 10.15 and earlier / Win 7 downloads),

Else then there must be a misunderstanding here. Kontakt 7 does neither come as 'dll' nor as 32 Bit.

    Kontakt 7 (Kontakt 7.vst3) on PC is located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Quote Specifications : SUPPORTED INTERFACES :

    macOS (64-bit only): Stand-alone, VST3, AU, AAX

    Windows (64-bit only): Stand-alone, VST3, AAX

As for your 'only Player' version complaint then if your Kontakt 7 after upgrade and proper registration of the serial in Native Access add serial is still only Player then try this trouble-shooter : MyProducts Are Showing As DEMO in Native Access , especially '2.Your activation fails because of corrupted or missing activationtokens' and '3. You have corrupted XML files' (delete both NAXML and offending Kontakt product XML)

If the above doesn't help then try Jeremy_NI's latest 'invention' : there placing of the XML file.

    QuoteJeremy_NI :

It looks like the Native Access.xml file downloaded by NA isdamaged/incomplete.

In this example it is missing the Kontakt 7 entries, please trythe following:

Delete the Native Access.xml in the following location and restartyour computer and open NA

    Windows:Β C:\Program Files\CommonFiles\Native Instruments\Service Center

Mac:Β Macintosh HD > Library >Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center

Repeat until the missing products reappear/the products in demorecognise their activation again.

If this doesn't work, please download this zip file, unzip it andand replace your xml file with this one.

NativeAccess.xml.zip or the newer Sunborn XML file July 4th : NativeAccess.xml.zip)
