When I close komplete kontrol in ableton, ableton crashes

It's all in the title, when I use komplete kontrol in ableton live 11 (i.e. all the time), when I've finished recording, when I close the komplete windows ableton crash since update 3.1.0.


I have the impression that it does this particularly when I use the komplete scale option.


Is there any way to retrieve the previous drivers via native access or do you have any idea how I can manage this please?


All my software are up to date

    Were you on KK 3 previously, or KK 2.9.6?

    What operating system are you on?

    Lastly, have you opened a support ticket?

    I think I was on 3.0.3, but if it's possible to have both installs, I'd be interested.

    I think it would be interesting to have access in the native access to the last 2 updates in case of problems like this.


    I'm on Windows 11, and yes, I've created a ticket but I need to work at the moment. In the worst case, I'll just use my kontroll as a common master keyboard.

    Correction:

    When I use KK 3.1.0's scale/arp menu, as soon as I close the KK window, Ableton Live crashes, systematically. It's impossible to work like this, and these handy options are totally unusable.

    This is my exact same problem. And its taking forever to get it solved because its a ping pong response over time instead of someone sitting down and working on the problem to finish it. they just string you along until they get to it.


    ive spent 1700 on NI gear new and used in the past three weeks, and it crashes my ableton and i cant register my maschine Mk3 unless the NI staff tells me I can use my purchase

    The problem isn't ableton live. They haven't updated in months. On the other hand, Native Instruments, with their new MK3 kontrol range, updates Komplete Kontrol on a regular basis, and it's these updates that generate the malfunctions and cause the problem.

    v2.x works "ok" so if you don't have an MK3 keyboard, just stick to v2.x. Tho in the last few years, KK has had an ever increasing list of problems in Ableton Live that have just never been addressed, mostly based around the KK implementation of VST3 and the failure to work with some plugins completely such as Cherry Audio, Korg.

    All you can do is report the issues and hope one century they will bother to do anything about them.

    Same issue here. win11 ableton 10 - everytime u press an X on a KK plugin ableton just closes.

    And they still have not done anything, for years?! what a load of ******-ers. At this point i think everyone should just refund that cheap china ****** marketed as expensive gear - maybe that ll show em the actual place where they should be.

    Is it possible to have a link which proposes us retrospectively all the updates of komplete kontrol (from updates 3.) to experiment those which do not make our DAWS crash please.

    I've only been able to get my hands on 2.9.6, but since then the CPU has been climbing insanely.

    Thanks for your information, do you have any idea how I can install an old version of KK? What is certain is that I hesitated to buy the mk3, I know now that I will invest my money otherwise. I can't buy stuff that doesn't work, especially if NI takes ages to repair malfunctions. Thanks again for your reply.

    v2.9.6 is the last version for v2

    Yes I found it thanks for your help, but i'm looking for the first 3.0 because they worked before the 3.1.0.

    I have the 2.9.6's link but i 'm too young on the community to post it. I have also a video of the crash because of the 3.1.0 but I cant link it too.

    huge frustration, I see that I am not the only one in this situation for a few days as soon as I do something with the komplete kontrol software, I automatically have a crash on ableton live 11....since update 3.1.0.

    I thought it would be appropriate to report the incident...it would be greatly appreciated if you took care of the problem

    I created a ticket last week. The answer I got was in 2 points:

    1/reinstall the driver via Native Access, which I'd done several times but to no avail.

    2/Reinstall the update by downloading an exe from a page, here's the exe's name: Maschine_2_217_PC

    Nothing to do with Komplete Kontrol.

    I'm a fan of Native Instruments products, and I've invested heavily in their hardware and software.

    I've also invested time in Maschine software, which I find incredible for producing loops but extremely rigid and impractical for editing mixing etc... That's why I prefer to work with Ableton Live.

    The sk49mk3 appealed to me, and I was seriously considering investing in this keyboard.

    But having experienced too many crippling bugs due to uncorrected updates via other brands, I think the problem I'm experiencing may take a long time to resolve.

    In the meantime, my system works pretty well with the adjustments I've made, and I won't be doing any more updates for a while.

    Thanks to the community for helping me out, I hope you solve your problems. In my case, the solution is the KK 2.9.6 update.
