What exactly was his solution that solved it? That answer doesn’t say anything.

    Hi Stevenhuito,

This issue was a nightmare for me for more than 18 months, and I really thought that I had wasted over $2k on a Drum Maschine that didn’t function correctly, causing a lot of distress. However, I finally understood the problem. While I’m not entirely happy with the solution, I believe it’s the only thing that actually will work for our use case of using the Maschine as a VST within a DAW.

Most people using Maschine don't use it within a DAW like Studio One (or anything else). They use the custom Native Instruments DAW built specifically for Maschine. This is my understanding, and while I could be wrong, I have good reasons for arriving at this solution.

When we use Maschine as a VST plugin in Studio One (which DAW are you using?), the DAW does not sync with the Maschine hardware correctly. I believe this is a flaw in the Native Instruments design of Maschine.

Anyway, the solution is to use the MIDI mode on the Maschine. This worked for me, but it’s not straightforward to set up Maschine in MIDI mode for our DAW (Studio One in my case).

Therefore, it’s important to research this as your next step. Getting the correct setup depends on configuring Universal Control correctly for your specific setup and also the VST mappings … so many mappings, and NI does not help with this in any respect, it's very sad.

I can’t even remember the details now as it was a while ago, but you can post back here if you have no luck, and I’ll try to help further.

    Good luck and best regards,

    Simon
