Yeah Apple is definitely like that. Haha it does makes me slightly more comfortable about general privacy in their ecosystem though.

But you know what, thinking more on this, those weird permissions must be from the way I copied these samples. This is essentially for a mobile clone of my main rig, and I used ChronoSync to clone my SSD's to new ones. Perhaps there was some weirdness in the way they transferred the hidden directories.
