Using my tracks on someone else’s setup
If I use my drive attached to a friends pc/traktor, do I need to take any precautions about messing up his library/collection? Like, later when he runs traktor will it try and find tracks that I had played from my drive?

It will add your tracks to the collection, but it will fail to find them. Your friend will have to remove them from the collection manually.

Before you quit Traktor you may sort the Collection by Icon.
All you played Tracks are displayed together and you can delete them from Collection.
Just to be sure not to delete your friends stuff - also check the FilePath

Or a friend may start and terminate Traktor. Traktor makes backup of Collection state, Then run Traktor and do whatever you need. And at the end import Collection from that backup file to get it to the state just before you came....
Or just create a backup file and use methods suggested by others. And if things go wrong, no problem to restore original state... It may take time if the collection is big.

Have him copy his "collection.nml" file, afterwards he can put it back and all will be as before.
