Hey people! Followed the steps from Paul Chabot's article "Traktor Kontrol S4 and X1 Catalina Big Sur Setup" and my S4 MK1 started working successfully on Monterey 12.7.4 :)

Thanks to the author @DimaSpider and Paul Chabot for saving my controller from being a useless piece of metal! Good luck to everyone!

Confirmed! Is working with Catalina 10.15.7, only openning the Traktor S4 2.8 dmg driver with Suspicious Package 4.2.1 for Catalina. Big thanks!!!

I have followed the steps on Monterey 12.7.5, but I don't see 'Native Instruments' listed on the System Preferences → Privacy Page.

When I enter the final command in Terminal I receive this error:

Error Domain=KMErrorDomain Code=27 "Extension with identifiers com.caiaq.driver.NIUSBTraktorKontrolS4Driver not approved to load. Please approve using System Preferences." UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Extension with identifiers com.caiaq.driver.NIUSBTraktorKontrolS4Driver not approved to load. Please approve using System Preferences.}

Any assistance would be lovely.

GOT IT WORKING!

The last step which I couldn't figure out, was tripping me up - hopefully this explains it for anyone else.

Go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy page

Go to the 'General' tab

Look at the bottom of the page for 'Some system software requires your attention before it can be used'

If general settings are locked: Click the lock icon in the lower-left corner. Enter your device password. Click Unlock.

Click the 'Details' button

Tick the box with 'Native Intruments GmbH'

You will be asked to reboot and it your Traktor S4 MK1 should be up and running!

For Macbook M1 (or later) owners it seems not to work.

I tried to follow the instructions of Paul Chabot running Sonoma (14.5) but the commands do not work:

cd /Library/Extensions



sudo chown -R root:wheel ./NIUSBTraktorKontrolS4.kext


sudo kmutil load -p NIUSBTraktorKontrolS4.kext

The last command returns the following error because the ARM architecture of the new macbooks (like the M1) does not support the X86_64 binaries:

Is anyone able to share Paul Chatbot's article?? unable to locate to try and solve this mystery (after buying a s4 mk1 not knowing my M1 wouldn't be suitable I have now opened my old Macbook with Catalina. I'm just missing the guidance I guess that was in the article along with any files mentioned? Would really appreciate some help

Can someone just confirm if this method will work with traktor 4 pro or does it need to be 3 ?
