I think it makes perfect sense to work on these together as they share many things in common and a unified approach to them both is very welcome to me if it results in the remaining incompatibilities between KK and Maschine (such as aftertouch support) being resolved. I would see it less as an either/or and more like even when working on one, it can still have benefits for both apps, as with the recently updated multitasking scanapp.

    I do agree.

Just it’s a pity things will be slowed down. This approach would be very good if they had enough people in the team and they could work in parallel. They are not “working on this together”: the team must shift from one to the other, not being composed by enough people.

And it’s also a pity they told us only an “half truth” for all this time.

It’s something in the ballpark of realizing an animated series: if you are a big serious company, you hire a lot of artists. So you have the few “minds” (the screenwriters, the main characters designer,…) that realize the story and the characters and the main drawings…and then all the other artists that will work on the “filling” drawings to allow the character to “move” and bring him to life. The various episodes will be realized in parallel and the series will see the light. It will cost more…but the result will be of the best quality.

If instead you decide to spare and hire only 2 artists…they will have to shift from task to task…and they will be able to make the thousands of drawing necessary only for the first episode, taking a long time. And then move to the second episode…that will see the light only after an even longer time…

Add to that that maybe one of the artist is very good only in coloring…but he will be asked to make also all the other tasks…since they are only 2… And the result will not be as good, since, to make up to the absence of the right professional for the right task, someone will be asked to make what he is not fitted to.

Talking about quality…an even better example is houses building. You can make one even hiring only 2 bricklayers. But it will take a long time to build it. And when they will realize the roof, it will be not as good as if a carpenter did it. And maybe they will make some mistakes laying the floor heating, not being specialists in this work. And you’ll end up with a cold house

    @MaikR

The delay in the Mas+ v2 software update was that we found some bugs in our beta testing phase that the team needed to address before we shipped it publicly.

Software development is not an exact science and while we baked some time into our release timelines for these situations, but these bugs took longer to fix than we expected.

We literally just shipped the updated beta version to our beta community, and assuming the fixes are verified, we'll be shipping the update very soon. Stability for the software that runs on standalone devices is even more important than when it's an app running on a desktop.

I would say “people want new F1 mk2” IF they ADD something… If it’s just a design revamp… I don’t want it… because if they release it (without adding something substantial) they will then abandon the ones I already have (and that work perfectly)….

Hi, and thank you for these informations.

I have 4 important questions about Traktor :

    • What about real-time stems separation (with no need to generate another file) ?
    • What about HID Phase support ?🙏
    • What about this known issue : https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/38078/traktor-input-routing-issue-for-single-timecode/p1
    • What about a Traktor Z2 mk2 and / or official support for DJM S7 / S11 (with fonctional screen for Traktor waveforms) ?

Please can we get informations about that, and an approximation of when this major update would come 🙏🙏🙏

    Best regards,

    Steve

If I remember the dedicated Maschine team was disbanded years ago - my guess it was expensive and complicated things across product lines with silo cultures + Akai MPCs improved faster. It was never assembled again leading to lower output of improvements and no new hardware.

It is way smarter for integration.

But it may some time lead to years without any development of certain products. 12 years for another big Maschine update is a pretty long time.

    Indeed.

I would hope that people can already see, or will begin to see as it continues, that the pace has really picked up in the last 18 months. Let's keep it going! There's still much to do.

We see it. The problem is that any pace can be advertised as a picking up when starting from 0.

We do appreciate the work been done by you guys (the developers). What we are saying is what discussed above: the lack of enough manpower for the scopes NI still wants to pursue has consequences. If the same underemployed team must follow things like Maschine AND KK, it is difficult the pace can be what it should be. And also the quality can be influenced by that.

If the city workers must build 5 streets, having 2 of them or 10 makes the difference. 2 will build them anyway…but they can’t work at all 5 at the same time. And maybe, pressed by the city council to make the streets available for citizens in the current year, they will hurry the work done, not building the sidewalks and saying “we will add them later”. But…in the meanwhile maybe some citizens will change were they live, not feeling safe in a city without sidewalks… and the council to still look like a big city will ask to build 5 more streets next year. And the first 5 will remain without sidewalks…

It’s the city council that must hire more workers if they want to be a city that builds 5 new well built streets in a year.

I quoted Matthew’s post cause I was answering at what he said, but probably this is more suited for @Simon_NI

I'm reading in these posts that version 1.6 has been released but I can't find it in the download version, where can I find it?
