I have just switched on tp4 and it has set itself back to default, track collection has disappeared and only contains 13 preloaded tracks. I`ve tried setting path, importing collection but nothing seems to work. PLEASE HELP

Still the same questions and suggestions for you:

And if version 3 is still on your pc, maybe try to delete and reinstall TP4.

Are you importing the right backup? Look in the backups folder and you should be able to see where the size suddenly dropped.

First of all, as you probably know, each Traktor version has it's own folder in the User Documents.

    So, simply go to:

    C:\Users\user_name\Documents\Native Instruments\Traktor 3.?.?

    and move everything to:

    C:\Users\user_name\Documents\Native Instruments\Traktor 4.?.?

However, if you do not want to import and re-import all the time, on every new update, what i suggest is to completely ignore the default location and create your own.

I have mine at: E:\Music\Traktor. Always the same folder since years ago. Nothing gets lost, ever.
You can create your folder anywhere you like, however i strongly suggest to avoid the system drive (C:) for a number of good reasons. Space is one of them.

Assuming you make your folder on D: drive and a year later you ran out of space, you just buy a larger disc, move everything there, then remove the old one and rename the new one to D:
This is literally an "eternal" solution! You can go on like this, for many years. No worries, no troubles.

So, once you create the folder, just move all your content there, there open Traktor, go to Preferences > File Management and point to the new location. Then simply restart Traktor.

    Like this:

Note: You can do similar things with almost any application. Default locations really sucks, most of the times. 😉
