    "More and more DAWs"

Bitwig, Studio One & Cubase… so (aside from Bitwig & PreSonus who came up with it) it's supported by just one other company - Steinberg. 🤔

Yeah but we are talking about DAWs not companies ;) 3 DAW already have it - more coming. Reason is ARM ready for Windows ARM (Pete Brown 🙌 💪 at MS is doing amazing job btw) . Really new things are coming - I’m just exited ;) That’s all.

Out of interest: Steinberg added DAWproject also to Cubasis and VST Live.

But I’m sure someone will be perplexed anyway…

thanks for the tip, but I’m a vice versa type of guy! I learned more about Maschine through the M+ than using M on desktop, and it’s the same with Live. I get it easier without the computer.

    To each his own ☺️

Anyway Live is way more complex (I mean “deep”) and some things are quite difficult to understand in a standalone box.

But vice versa could be the way ☺️

to me there’s just too much on the screen and too many options. I learn the unit and when I transfer projects I see where things end up being. I’m no newbie and most units are similar, and once you’ve experienced and know a few it’s much easier.

Yesterday, Akai announced the beta firmware 3.5 for the Force — some really cool additions in there. I didn’t have much time to dig deeper into it yet, but overall, it looks promising.

This is something that bothers me a bit. I still love Maschine more, but while everyone else seems to be making real progress, the changes in the Maschine world feel mostly cosmetic.

At least Maschine 3 on the M+ will finally have a bounce option, which should make it easier to export things to Live. ;-)

The integration between Ableton Note, Push (Move), and Live is truly impressive. A project can be started on Push, developed further in Note, and then finished or polished in Live. That cloud workflow is super helpful and a real time-saver.

Ableton is a pretty decent DAW in my opinion. Its my main DAW and I dont really find it to be lacking anything major. Been using it since version 1, so maybe I'm just stuck in my ways LOL

As for exporting my Maschine stuff into live, I've got no need for such a thing. The current implementation where I run Maschine as a VST3 and mult out the important tracks into several audio tracks in llive, and use MIDI clips for realtime juggling scenes and patterns, works well enough for me. I can always render out the multitracks of the final arrangement if I find I need to, for any reason. But I do acknowledge that other people use the combo differently.

I personally want to postpone rendering to audio for as long as possible, but that's just my preference. With my M4 mac mini with UAD Octo card, I can keep it all realtime without breaking a sweat (live's PDC will keep everything in sync), and only need to render out to audio for the final export.

@AdelV I agree Ableton's method is top notch. Spitballing- Maschine desktop s/w should have a mode that ensures anything you do is compatible with standalone M+ so you can go freely back and forth.

    Wirelessly.

I often work with group processing, and here’s the issue — when routing the VST version of Maschine, you lose the pre-mix and all the effort invested in shaping the current project (Group effects are completely bypassed in VST mode). Sure, it’s possible to fix things and get a decent result after bouncing with some extra steps, but it’s far from ideal.
