Cannot believe ive actuall sat in studio with new keyboard the whole attemting to install Firmware onto the keyboard, all it had ended up with a MK 3 now with no firmware at all and now been blacked out 6 hours….and no real specific way to get this fixed.

Im not new to this type of thing technically but have been using all DAWs Keyboards since Atari ST…and have been a fan of NI for many years and have spent a fortune on packs/ software etc etc like everyone does. Im so happy tho i have my trusty S88 and Maschine with Jam and this keyboard with now end up in Germany where it started …cant belive a company so big that they can land this onto consumers and expect them to deal with all their issues..

NOT my screenshot BUT this is the firmware updater that messed up the new xmas present

It did boot when it arrived today…not anymore , its going back in the morning

Sorry to hear this but it is telling you the 'real specific way to get this fixed' right there in the second sentence of that message. Power cycling means, turn on the device, wait 2-3 seconds and then turn it off again. Please repeat this 5 times. It should go back into firmware update mode - more in this thread:

If that fails try a different cable or USB Hub, especially if you are on Mac a USB hub is a good idea.

Originally it tells you to dismantle all peripherals and shut everything including HUB and sleep mode and use the power supply with usb c etc etc.

I followed all of this repeatedly and the see that u need to try this and that but I’m afraid to say how can I follow what you are saying when the keyboard started with 0.29 and just enough firmware to allow the boot process..Keyboard has now No serial number or any firmware now.

I have dismantled my HUB and so now you are saying I can use USB inc adapter for my 10 port USB 2 Hub as u are not very specific here.
and yea it’s an M2 Studio Mac ..Hub is NOT usbC

if you read this and clarify more on the HUB I will try this.

For ARM Mac's an external hub is recommended, but obviously it needs to support USB C, ideally powered (I use the one built into my Studio Display)

Once you have that try power cycling to get it back into setup mode, then run the firmware updater again

can you please explain what ARM Mac is firstly

Also can I ask you how your installation went Kymeia?

Did the update crash out? like mine did twice causing the wipe out of the keyboard.

    ARM = M1-4

I had zero problems and have updated the firmware multiple times now but I made sure I had it on my Studio Display hub first

I’ll just pop out and buy a studio Mac monitor with the included hub…Thanks

    Hope it’s boots my S44 mk 3 …🤣

Obviously you don’t need to do that, it’s just that I had one already but just try with a regular USBC hub, hopefully that will work, in most cases this does
