Another explanation….

One may change order of tracks in playlist only when sorted by #. One cannot modify order of tracks in playlist when sorted by anything else than #.

And now one might want to reorder that playlist that it has groups Adur, Cdur, and Bdur (in this order) and each subgroup is ordered by BPM.

So, you order playlist by scale and BPM, consolidate, sort by #, remove everything but Adur, Cdur, and Bdur. And move Cdur between Adur and Bdur.

Consolidate pernamently reorders tracks in playlist. And after that one can do additional reordering by hand up to taste. (When sorted by #.)
