How to Pin the browser when auditioning sounds on MK3 ( Komplete Kontrol )

Also bear in mind Trusampler is referring to being able to do this on the keyboard as well, which is only possible with the MkII but was inexplicably removed with the MkIII models but would be very useful to be able to do, particularly given you can’t have the browser and plugin open at the same time in KK3 - at least then you could be browsing on the keyboard and have the plugin window open on the screen

And yet another reason to stay firm on my trusty MKII :)

I don't know, I do much prefer the MkIII overall for the Polyphonic aftertouch, which is lovely to have, and also I do like having the on board MIDI and now the ability to route out MIDI without unplugging the USB cable. The way I work when I'm performing is normally to pin the browser in the KK3 software so I have that open on the computer screen, and keep the plugin window and controls open on the keyboard so not being able to pin the browser on the keyboard is less of an issue for me mostly, but there are times, such as when I'm auditioning and favouriting patches where being able to pin the browser open on the keyboard would be really useful as well as it's much faster doing those things on the keyboard than in the software.

Well - I have yet to reach the point where I am ready to start making any mods to my workflow.
I will continue to monitor this situation and should KKv3 ever reach actual feature parity with KKv2.9.6 - I will of course be interested.
But I won't compromise these precious KKv2 "defaults" simply to move to a new version. Makes no sense for me right now - especially for a S61 MKII

Any news NI ?

Middle of summer? In the middle of a huge sales period? With staff vacations all over the calendar?
This time of the year never sees any huge changes or releases.
If anything check back in late Fall.

Why not just say, it's NI, of course there aren't any updates…
Check back in 2030 i'd say…0 -
Just trying to take the high road. Maybe we get lucky.
For me v2.9.6 still rocks. But I get the frustration.

Well TBF, the question was posted 8 months back in 2024 with a "let me get back to you" from @Jeremy_NI 4 months ago. If you are clinging to luck still, I envy your ability to apply blind positivity.
It's like being a child again asking mum and dad for something and getting the chesnut "maybe later, we will see"… I know now full well I was never going to get that minibike.

Well it’s not really positivity as I do not have a skin in this game right now.
Still think the chances of anything major occurring with KKv3 is slim to none as re creating the missing features from KK v2 is most likely not a priority and makes no real impact to future plans for the software.
They have had 18+ months to address this stuff and still nothing.
IF there is a KKv4 in sometime in the distant future - maybe then. Maybe.VP

Hey there, sorry for the lack of communication here. There is no date yet for this. It's still in the backlog but it hasn't been prioritized yet. I do understand your frustration and your demand for a resolution but this seems to be something missed only by a few people, there are only 6 people in this thread, there are a few reports or compalints here and there but that's it. The Komplete Kontrol /Maschine team have a lot of other priorities at the moment so they will prioritize the issues that are beneficial to the many. We do understand that you are power users and we would also like you to be happy. As said it's still in the backlog, we don't forget about it.
Simon will do a AMA very soon and Chris will do another one a bit later regarding Komplete Kontrol and Maschine.

It's not in most people's nature to complain and TBH, the activity on the forums lately appears to be way down anyway which may be a bigger sign. This is the issue big companies have, they operate purely off metrics. When there is a major issue do we see 100,000 users flood to the forum, no we see maybe 5 so if you take 1 user and assume they speak for 20,000 users then there are a lot it affects.
Note how most of the people making the SAME complaint are regular or long time users (that should be valued for their insights, not constantly made to feel like an insignificant minority). A lot of people just accept that what a company gives them is what they get and these days people are less inclined to speak out. Maybe they are not as affected but I can guarantee, if you show them what they are missing from the old software and ASK if they would like it to be that way, the overwhelming majority would say yes, put a poll up and see what people would like to see next and I will email my user-base to have them poll.
This is also functionality that was taken away and what benefit have we gained to have it redesigned in such a way? Usually when a major change in design is made, there is a reason for it and usually it is to improve workflow, I cannot see how having more clicks to access the same things and having hidden panels is more functional?
What about the issue with missing sub banks? This was confirmed, by @Matthew_NI to be a bug way back when we raised it in BETA. You cannot say this affects only 6 people and being a bug that was introduced between the change from V2 to V3 I would think this would garner more attention.
We all know development is woefully slow which is why it is an increasing frustration every 6 months to see still a raised issue (not a request, an issue) is again overlooked and could be another 6 month+ wait to hope we see it in the next update.
I think NI should cast a wider eye over the internet for their feedback since watching only the forum is skewing what people are really discussing out there.
To ask you an honest question, do you enjoy the way the browsing works in the new interface over the old one in terms of function (not appearance) and find it improves workflow?
